Hmmm, just received my first order from gearbest. Well packaged and arrived in less than 2 weeks to Canada. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. However I will take note of the previous discussion and order from banggood when possible.
There is no doubt that some folk get good stuff.... but the odds on getting quad related stuff in 100% condition are high.
While I complain frequently and loudly about EveryBuying
( again - EB are couple with GearBest and Tiny Deals in the same office) - although it took weeks and many replies to "tickets", -
I did get a full refund ( my Syma X8 Ssaga is well documented on another thread) - albeit to a store credit - spent on yet another - defective item - which in return gained a $45 refund - which + a few $ more bought a set of 4 perfectly good Mars Motors.
The second defective item - my Devo 10 radio turned out to have a USB issue made to look worse because the drivers used when I "upgraded" The Walkera Devention firmware to the better Deviation firmware - had issues with my Win 7 PC. After I eventually got the drivers to install and some pushing and shoving with the USB connected board and some wire shifting - it seems to work OK... snag is I simply don't trust it!
So most will say ... OK you had problems but got credits and ended up with two separate items. OK, but I consider 50% to be payment for teh hard times..time spet on emails etc,. and having to wait almost 2 months from first order - and still not having a RTF quad as was the intention.
I found in many "complain here about xxxxx " websites that's seemingly 1000s just walked away with getting a refund or a working item. I just cannot do that! If I pay for something I give credit for Service, Quality and Reliability ( which was actually my company byline in the UK!)
If I get ripped off.... I may not win back a few - but they know about it!
EverBuying - GearBest - Tiny Deals - why do they need three websites - which are run cheap basically because there is only one really admin cost. Web domains annual costs and webbies to look after the websites - are not really a big cost compared to what is raked in. But - IMHO - they use three websites to catch the folk they pigged off with defective stuff... and look for another supplier!
I would doubt quad related products are their main source of sales when you look at the other stuff they peddle.
Is there a lul in quad sales...?
I see youTube stalwarts like Quadcopter 101, Frequent Flyer and painless 360 and others - are getting fixed wing stuff... dune buggy and racing cars... Aliashimo(?) a while back was wizzing a RC controlled motorbike, other items are 3D printers. OR is it that more reliable sources of quality RTF, Bind n Fly stuff are becoming known about.... time will tell..
