it was fun but sucks cus i seem to keep losing signal, i guess i need to do the signal extension mod :(

almost crashed on the roof :(

i opened up the remote and took the little black dummy antenna off since it doesnt do anything and tried pulling the antenna wire up a bit more too so hoping that helps

ok so now i think range does seem bit better, however i almost lost my drone! cus someone was talking to me while i was flying and i got distracted and ended up really high, but then i couldnt figure out the direction to fly it back to me :( and it kept getting further and further away :( and so i eventually just gave up and let it drop :(

i was sooo upset, started crying like how god always wants to make me suffer in life, but after i walked like 2 blocks i found it in a soccer field luckily...

OMFG i just crashed on an old ladys roof and she comes up to me like "ITS MINE NOW GET OFF MY PROPERTY OR I WILL CALL THE POLICE" - and i thought she was kidding, she wasnt. and i dont think its her property even i think its a rented condo...i just called the police, will see how it goes.

called them and they said "well...its a civil matter" typical, always there to give peopel speeding tickets for going over 1mph but cant do anything else :S

honestly i think im done with this hobby, i have anxiety problems and i get overwhelmed really easily and i just cant handle this anymore. at least im glad i didnt go 500$+ for a phantom.

wow, you've had quite a day ! tough luck mate, but at least it's a cheap toy one and you haven't lost $500.

Practice gently - no more than about 10m away from you and no more than about 5m high until you've got the hang of it - and there are loads of fields near you, go and stand in the middle of one of those till you get the hang of it - where you're standing you could have easily lost it for good on the roof of your apartment block.

It's the nature of the hobby - stuff breaks or gets lost, and if it doesn't, you're not trying hard enough... (reminds me, I must order some new legs)

thanks, i just recovered the drone! the policeman was quite helpful actually, and techinically the drone did not land on her property, cus it was on her roof but then it flew over and landed on the street in front of her.

funny part, i recorded the whole thing, u can see it crash and u can see the old lady come out and try to find it haha

i think its too windy tbh, idk what happened, im done for today though, next time im going out to the country roads.

uploading video now, its big one - i think u guys will find it funny lol

i love this x5c-1 btw, i crashed it so much, not a single scratch yet!

A couple of things:

The x5c-1 will take a beating and then some. It was the one I learned to fly on (actually still learning) and will even survive days out in the weather.

Practice, practice, & practice. And then practice some more. This is something that can’t be stressed enough. Recommend spending many full battery loads where you do nothing but out and backs, hitting specific landing marks, and just holding a level hover. Yeah, it’s boring but will payoff later.

Try to get out into more open areas. And the X5c-1 – as you have found -- is not very good in the wind. Even light winds can be challenging.

Ya tbh a couple people have told me that the prop guards actually do more harm than good cus they can get caught in a breeze that carries away the quad and makes it harder.l to control, and tbh I feel its a lot easier to control with the guards off. And if your falling and cut the throttle, your not likely to break a propeller anyways, and besides I got 4 spare props, so obviously the first 4 are meant to be broken as you learn :P

Im out of town atm but can't wait to go flying again in the evening. Tbh I think I was loeijg signal in my video cus I was behind that brick building...

I think here on out I'm gonna only practice on soccerfields, I feel they are the best place. Flat and wide open and usually empty cus hardly anyone plays soccer here lol

Hoping I get good enough skills where I can go back to that ladies house and just hover in front of her window but off her property and drive her crazy!! Jk lol

ok here's the video of me crashing on that old ladies house....god im so angry that she tried to take my drone!!

im going to go on a quadcopter VENDETTA

step 1. get extremely good at flying my quad
step 2. change my home wifi name to "NSA Surveillance Drone"
step 3. Hover outside her unit but off her "property" all day everyday until she goes insane and tries to build a 100ft fence then falls and dies.

battery is charged! going for a nightflight in the soccer field/park...prop guards are off, just gonna try to do some stable altitude out and backs :D bbiab!

Back, tbh in quite happy with the bank turns and out and backs I was able to do, but it was very windy and it kept pushing away my quad and I couldn't even move through it, so hopefully tomorrow morning will be better. Though just having that big open field made things wayyyy easier, and I used the middle of the soccer field as a reference point so I didn't accidentally fly onto the highway lol

I guess a huge part of being a good quad pilot is knowing when to not fly.

BTW what's the best way to check wind speed? Just going out? Cus weather channel says only 5mph wind here right now, but its decinitly blowing harder than 5mph.

But dang looking at AccuWeather looks like evetydays gonna be like 15-20mph wind except Friday will have nice 5mph...what gives??

OMG another windy day today!! so windy that it spins my quads propellers even when its off and on the ground!! do you have to live in california to enjoy quads then? or just pray for that 1 lucky day per month ?
