First Build: Need Help with Parts

Hi Zach your need to look in the spec of each item at the max amps it will draw and add them up to get a total , as long as it does not go over 5 amps you should be ok , the last thing you need is to loose FPV while flying a long way off
 
Hi that lead runs off the balance lead of the battery, you will be better off making a loom really you can have a few Jst plugs to run what you need from the battery lead in to the power board , its not to bad of a job
but the lead will do the job may be a good idea having 2 jst plugs running

Hey, I got my gimbal a while ago and realized I ran out of Female JSTs. I bought some and they happen to be 22AWG while the wire coming off the gimbal is 20AWG. Is it ok if I solder the 22AWG on to the gimbal in order to power it? Will I have any problem? Thanks!
 
Hi, Once again thanks for all this help. One more thing. I got all the camera gear and mounted everything today. I weighed it and I am about 195 grams over the limit. Takeoff weight should be around 800-1600grams and I am at about 1795grams. Will I be ok? I don't want to stress any parts. Ok, Well i think I answered my own question... after spending about 4 hours rigging everything up I come to the conclusion that it can't reach more than 20 feet in he air with the extra weight. I don't know what to do. Any suggestions?
 
Change props, I will have to go back to what you have unless you can give me links to frame and motors and props 1795 is heavy but will fly
 
Well, I think What I need to do is get the simple landing gear and jerry rig the rest of the stuff on to it. I have the
DJI 2212 Black Brushless Motors for self tightening props. I am going to still do the landing gear thing but better props would be great if u can recommend some for those motors. Thanks
 
Has the motors got the flat on the bottom of the shaft what props do you have right now 8 or 9 inch also the motors come with a nut on the prop shaft if you fit the ones I listed your need to use that nut with them

Awesome! So If I bought two sets of the cheaper pair (The First Link) they wouldn't be to large for my quad? Also, Do I need to buy some kind of locking nut for the props? Will these really make that much of a difference? Thanks!
 
Hi Zach sorry mate I have so many threads on the go , The 450 can run up to 12 inch, but I had 10x4.7 Carbon Fibre on the same 450 frame, and WOW did it have loads of lift
 
I understand, do you run a gimbal and fpv on your f450? If so would you mind sending some pics of it? Also, do I need any locking nuts to go with those props you gave me a link to? Thanks.
 
Hi Zach that quad is dead and gone mate , the motors should had come with nuts that you remove to fit the self locking prop , if you have them still your need to use them with the props , if you dont have cw and ccw nuts you may be able to get some but the ccw may be hard to find

I had gotten the new ARF kit so no nuts were supplied. DO you honestly think the larger props will provide enough lift where as the quad won't be sluggish and will be able to perform at high altitudes? I put a picture down below of the motors just to confirm they are compatible with those nuts and props. Thanks!

When I had my 450 with 1200kv motors I had 8inch blades it took 3/4 throttle to even get off the deck so I fitted the 10x4.7 slowfly props well it shot off like a rocket and at 3/4 throttle it was a dot in seconds I know motors are more powerful than yours but my boys 450 only had 1000kv very cheap motors and it made a big difference to his to
props are cheap so try plastic 10x4.5 or 10x4.7 and see if your happy is yes then get carbon ones , the only other way is to change motor prop set up and thats going to cost more
 
I am going to try the larger props. Just wondering what kind of multirotor are you rocking these days? Last question, I heard that some people have blown ESC's using large props like 10x4.5. Will I be fine with my setup? Thanks!!!
