First Build: Need Help with Parts

Hi Zach yes that charger will work , the balance board that it come with ,your find the leads are stiff as it is a harder wire , just dont keep moving about try and keep it in once place or it will fail as a wire will snap , dont worry about it as its the same on my big 400 watt charger
 
One last question. Do I need a separate battery for my transmitter, monitor, receiver or gimbal? Also, do I have to some how regulate the power that gets given to my transmitter and receiver? Lastly, do I need any type of battery alarm? Thanks!

Hi the transmitter that you fly with will need a battery, the quad , camera gimbal and FPV transmitter will all run off the main quad battery, thats why it needs to be 4000/5000mah , the monitor will need a battery and this will power receiver, it depends on what make ,some FPV receivers will power the monitor all off the one battery
 
Awesome. I ordered a battery for the monitor/receiver. I also got a battery for the Tx. I wasnt sure how the connections for the gimbal and transmitter would be made so I bought some JST female connectors to attack to the PCB

I have got it built and ready to test for first flight. I have looked into flashing the naza lite because Im interested in the waypoints. Is it safe to flash as log as I follow all instructions? Thanks!
 
 
I never told you but I ended up canceling the order for that fpv gear. I have been flying a while now and decided to go ahead and buy the fpv gear I need. I have already purchased the Tarot 2D gimbal. I have some questions about the rest of what I need. This is what I am planning on buying: http://www.rcsuperstore.com/mobile/Product.aspx?id=7166. First off, is it good quality for the money and second I am wondering what I still need to get everything running. Such as cables to plug the transmitter into the battery etc. anything you see that I need in order to make this plug and play. Thanks in advance.

Hi mate it says you just need the DJI hub this comes with the wires for the Phantom 2 , they give you the link for the hub looks good mate
 
One more question. Can I use the fpv hub with my f450. I have a naza. Also, how does the whole thing get power? Lastly, since I am getting a tarot I do not believe it will work with the gimbal input on the fpv hub. Where do I plug the gimbal into? Thanks!
 
Hi as far as I can work out the hub will have a power in , IF you have the naza FCB the servo wires from the gimbal plug in to the FCB
I have looked again at the link now my head is in gear, this needs the Phantom2 to work so may be just get the FPV kit as this works on the flame wheel , once you have it your be able to see it better , the FPV tx will take power from the quads battery, this in turn powers the FPV camera
The monitor has a built in battery and normally power the FPV receiver so that s it really , but if the worse happens we can power the FPV receiver with a small 7.4v lipo, so it will still all work
 
This is what I figured. The monitor has built in diviersity receivers and a built in battery. We got the 5200Mah battery so we could power everything off of it. The only things we need to power are the gimbal and transmitter. I am using my action cam as the fpv cam so it has its own battery built in. I just don't know how to power it all off of the same battery. I could get a JST splitter but then how do I connect and xt60 to that to power the quad. Maybe I could use this http://www.gothelirc.com/shopexd.asp?id=2043 and then plug a JST splitter into the JST in order to power multiple things off the JSt while I power the quad off the XT60. Will the power be distributed properly? Do you think I would get a better flight time if I used the 5200Mah for the quad alone then used an 800Mah 3s for all the FPV gear? Thanks!

HI 2 batteries will add weight , the flame wheel has a PDB built in ,when you solder the battery to PDB leads to the PDB just add a lead for the camera gimbal feed and FPV transmitter ,it may be worth to filter the power to the FPV transmitter, The 5200mah will run every thing it does on the bigger quads so your will be ok
What you want is to work out what you need to power on the quad and make up a loom to run it all then just solder all the power take off wires all at once to the PDB , when you plug in the battery it will spark but dont worry they all when running this sort of set up
 
Ok, I think I understand what you are saying. I have one question though. I realize your way would be the cleanest way of doing this although I am not so great with the soldering iron plus the battery and everything is already soldered in. Would it work just the same if I used the plug I linked above? Personally for myself that would be the easiest way and if it will work just as well I would not mind spending the extra cash. Lastly, does the transmitter filter just clarify the signal and help block out ESC interference? I will watch the video later today. One more thing, if I use the adapter that I put above will the camera, gimbal, and transmitter be able to handle all the voltage from the main battery? Nothing will fry right? lol. Thanks!

Hi If the camera will take 12v then yes your be ok , The jst will only take 2 amps , 5 amps at a push , you are better off learning how to solder or do you know TV repair place that will make you up a lead if you pay them
 
Ok, I can solder it if I have to. I still have some questions though. So if I plug the camera into the transmitter then plug the JST into the transmitter for power but I do not directly put any power source into the camera will I have a problem if the camera cannot handle 12v? Also, just want to clarify. You are saying I should do what I drew in this diagram. Basically get the cords I need to power gimbal/transmitter make them into one positive and negative power cord then solder them onto PDB. Which part of PDB should I solder it to? The one where I soldered the main battery??? I drew this diagram just to clarify

Hi Zach yes as the pic and yes to the main bettery in on the board , most cameras take power from the FPV tx just check in the manual , if not give me a link and i will check it out
 
Ok, I am not sure what I am looking for so here is the manual link. Also, So if I decide not to solder the JST plan will work just fine? THANKS!!!
 
Yes but dont over power the Jst it will melt 2 amps a max of 5amps any thing over and it will melt
