Quad won't take off, KK2.1.5 browning out? Help

Hi,

I have a small 250 quad with Afro 12A bec ESC flashed with BLHeli. I have a KK2.1.5 FC flashed with Steveis 1.19S1 Pro. Whenever I try to take off the quad never leaves the ground and at some point of throttle the board shuts off like it browns out or something.

Would anyone have any ideas of what could be happening? A friend gave up on this project since he couldn't get it to fly and I have build quads before but seemed a bit stumped on this one.

Well he gave me what he had so yes it is the same kk board, ESC 3 also seems to spin slower/not as soon as the others, so im trying to replace that first but it could very well be a bad kk board

Try calibrating them one at a time first.

I have tried calibrating them before, still seems to have a problem with that one ESC so im waiting on the replacement and then maybe ill buy a different FC

Get an F3, even if it's a cloned board. Got to be better than that kk

Would there be any other FC that are simple enough and cheap ish? I guess I can't complain about a free quad but not looking to drop a lot of money on just a FC

Seriously pro F3. Cheap & reliable even if it's a clone. Any F3 you can afford.

Am I reading correct, a 12a ESC? What size motor & props?

With that 12a esc, should be around an 1806 on 4-5 inch. 22XX 23XX would kill them.

1704-1900 with a 5x4.5 prop

Gonna go out there and suggest the props might be the issue. They are small and have an aggressive pitch for those motors and frame.

Should I try some tri blade at 4x3.5 or something? I don't know much about tri

Well like I said, going out there. I would be using 6040 2 blade.
I'm new, but just surprised no-one asked before for more info. Could be totally not the issue.

Well I think part of the issue from what i'm experiencing is just the browning out on the kk board before I even hit full throttle

Is the throttle range set correctly.
Min=1000
Mid=1500
Max 2000
Then the same on the bl-heli settings if you use it.

Nothing is hot at all, just the power cuts and board shuts off after maybe 3/4th throttle or less
