need help with my falcon!

DAMN IT im pissed off because i got my charger today but turns out my 3s battery balance connector is effed up and cant be used anymore, (it got hit by a propellar) so now i got to wait til wednesday for a new battery and 20 bucks down the drain and i wanted to fly so bad today FML FML FML and im worried soon im just gonna lose my drone or something and all this will be a huge waste of money and on top of that parents constantly hassling me that im wasting money and etc and they have no idea how i struggle with my mental illness alone and doesnt seem to matter what i do i always get screwed f this poop life!!!
Calm down bro. Wanna fly today? No. problem. You can still charge your battery. Just plug it and charge it without the balance plug. It'll still charge like normal and it won't hurt it at all. BUT this isn't something you should do all the time. Even if they do get a touch out of balance, when you get your new charger, it'll bring your battery back to balance on the first charge. I've charged batteries up to 10 times in a row without balancing without any problems.

As for your parents, just ask them if they'd rather you spend all your money at the local bar or sticking a needle in your arm!

Didn't come with any manual.
Real hard to to find. LOL. Did you buy the Falcon from BG? They have a link. Although I got a strange feeling you wouldn't read it anyway.

Then don't use it. Use regular LiPo Charge.

If it's only the connector as you claim. You can get 3s balance leads dirt cheap for a quick repair. You'll also be able to whip up and extension lead which makes life much simpler.

right on thanks guys, so basically i just need to buy a balance lead and strip the wires on my current one and solder the wires to the new balance connector?

and yeah i tried charging it without connecting the balance connector, and tried doing a regular charge and fast charge, but it still gives me a balance connect error. thinking maybe charging it all night on the b3 charges messed up the battery

Just has a chip out of it. Can't you connect it? And is it just my imagination or does that battery look like it's 8 1/2 months pregnant?

yeah i think it swelled up and got messed up from the b3 charger...when i connected it to this smart charger, its saying its balance error, thinking maybe its messed up and the smart charger doesnt want anything to do with it.

also btw one of my landing gears broke and i cant get it back on...is it ok to be missing a landing gear? or will it cause an imbalance that will make me crash?

just get some electrical tape and tape up the two terminals that might touch. plug it in and charge it and use it until you get a replacement connector.

Take those off and put them in the trash. Get some of these: http://www.amazon.com/uxcell®-M3x25...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

With some of these: http://www.amazon.com/Alloy-Steel-S...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00

or a version like the above and make landing gear.

sweet thanks man (are u cben btw lol?)

does my turnigy battery look healthy? i got it strapped down nice and tight and according to my 10$ multimeter and the smartcharger, it seems to be charged well and nice and balanced too - so if i crash again, it wont be because my battery became unplugged :D (also got a small strip of sticky velcro under the battery to keep it more secure)

i found a local shop that sells lipo batteries, its twice as expensive as amazon, but i need to fly today so hoping to hit them up this evening then hit the skies!!!

Looks good. Put your quad buzzer under the forward strap and run your balance plug under the rear strap. Holds it in nice and tight.
sweet that sounds like an awesome idea thanks! i was going to strap the buzzer to the side of the battery with the blue strap on the back lol, your idea seems much smarter!

my voltage alarm came early so i went for another flight! it was great, but then i crashed - and this time it seems bad....what u guys think i should do? i made this quick video cus its a lot to type out, but i found out those red parts are motor tilts so im gonna take those off...what u think the smoke is?

tbh though i feel like this time flying, the motors sounded "louder" like they were struggling or something....wondering if maybe something got messed up from last flight, or maybe they were the same idk.

OK, so those red pieces aren't part of the motor, they're angled mounts. Just remove them and screw your motors directly onto the arms. As for the smoke........this is bad. Here's what I would do. If it wasjust your VTX, it wouldn't be that big of a deal so unplug the power to it and plug your battery in and see if there's no smoke. Then you know you you just smoked the VTX. If it still smokes, you gotta see where it's coming from (My guess is an ESC. Do this outside where there's no breeze and und unplug the battery the SECOND you see the smoke. Before you do any of this, go over every wire and connection thoroughly to make sure there's no damage that would cause something to be shorting out.

Ive burnt up 5 cameras from crashes. My guess is that if the smoke ismcomming from the front, its probably the camera. RENOV8R is right you need to plug in and look for smoke. You need to replace that arm so you could remove the top plate and those side panels around the camera and look at the camera board. Also you could smell the ESCs and camera. They stink pretty bad when then have melted. The ESC on that arm might have smoked.

Right on thanks guys. Video transmission seems to be working fine still. I can see video on my goggle's when the quad Is on. My guess it's the ESC, cus that's where the smoke seems to be coming from. gonna take the quad to my dads house today to see what he thinks.

Btw how does the ESC connect to the motor? I see the ESC has a servo connector that connects to the main board, then red/black wires to that I think are soldered to the board, but what about the other side?

got some good news guys! just had my first flight that did not end in a crash :D (before my battery kept getting disconnected, but i put an end to that :D)

i brought the quad to my parents house this morning, and me and my dad (mostly my dad) opened it up and turned out it was just some dirt causing a short, but he fixed it up nicely, no more smoke - everything works great! we/he also took off the motor tilts, so it should be more stable now, though tbh i don't really notice much difference between the motor tilts, mostly cus i think the wind kept pushing me around so much i spent most of my time just fighting the wind :( hoping i can get a non/low windy day soon!

few things i learned:

1. make sure you strap the battery down nice and tight, and if there is lot of battery slack do something like this cus slack can cause it to unplug = crash

2. buy a compressed air can and clean off your quad between flights/crashes

3. also never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever plugin your battery when your vtx does not have the antenna connected!! even if u have it taken apart and want to test something, plug the antenna back on before you feed the quad power!!

I ended up breaking off the other "landing gears" cus they are garbage and just using a board of nice wood as my lauch pad :D

but good to be back in action!! when i get better at flying, i'm going to reward myself with a go pro :D (i'm actually getting a runcam cus its cheaper and much lighter = more flight time/maneuverability, but i will be calling it a gopro)
