First quadcopter build, need part list.

Glad to see you join. $200 is a nice beginner's budget, shipping will be the fastest way to beak it though, so be mindful of that when ordering to avoid buying from the same distributor twice. Do you plan on doing anything like FPV? Take a look at Sai's page, there are some starter kits to...

    Motors ???

If you are doing something small you can use these cheap motors. If you plan to do a bigger quadcopter 10'' here are some budget motors. Here is a dirt cheap FC. If you plan on doing a REALLY light mutirotor then here is another. If you plan on doing something like the link from hackaday...

    Motors ???

First off, what do you plan to do with this quadcopter, FPV or something light weight? How much experience do you have soldering, etching PCB and what not?

    Aluminum frame with landing shocks

Turnigy 150W 1240 KV motors I use 9x4.7 props. I should have went with 950kv - 1000kv motors to carry a little more weight. So I could swing a 10''-12'' props.

    Best Budget Tx

Oh, thanks. I would not have guessed. I was looking where to buy a good RX, because the one in the link is $33 from the manufacture. I figured that meant that this was a china knockoff.

    Motors ???

That is what I thought you had. Sadly those won't run a muti-rotor. Their weight is too high for their lack of RPMs. With no electronics except the motor (no battery) they would not fly. Take a look at this link. Your project may not be dead yet. A guy on youtube used small brushed motors...

    Aluminum frame with landing shocks

Yeah, they did not have exactly what I wanted., I managed to cut the weight almost in half though. I updated the main post with pictures.

New new! Excited to get started

That appears to plug into the balancing plug on the battery. That is the white usually four wire connector that comes out of the battery. That is a good deal too, it also looks like it is almost pnp, from what I see you just supply power and it is ready.

    Motors ???

Welcome to the forums, nice to see the growing user base. What do you know about your motors, do they say a number then KV anywhere? Also what size are the props. Also can you add a picture of the motors?

    One motor spinning faster why?

Can you solder? If so you might replace the wires if they are burnt badly. Do they get warm now, if so there is a significant amount of resistance on the wires, also was this before or after you noticed the problem?

New new! Excited to get started

Welcome to the forums. You may also want to try this flight simulation app. It feels alot like flying a quad. It wil get you used to the mode 2 controls if nothing else. It works best on a tablet, but it can be used on both ios (apple) and android phones. When deciding what you want to...

    One motor spinning faster why?

I have heard that sometimes the ESCs can need to be flashed, or if you have high resistance (like if you had bad solder joints) it could also cause motors to behave abnormally. Sadly it looks like you need to get a programming card if you don't already have one. Most people seem to like...

    2x24v battery series charging

Anyone know if this circuit will work to charge two 12v lead acid batteries in series? I need a trickle charger to charge two lead acid batteries in series, they have to be able to charge while in place.

What do you think of this build?

Yeah, after reading your post you need a much bigger quad to carry a DSLR. A 9x4 with 1000kv motor could only provide a max of 28.3 oz of weight. * 8 so you could carry 85.9, so you could only carry a little over 5 pounds.

What do you think of this build?

I am open to correction, but don't you need brushless ESCs? Here is a 30 amp brushless ESC. Also I'd suggest carbon Fibre props, more durable and less likely to explode midair. This motor's test: 8x4E - 14.8v - 222W - 15A, shows it pulling 15Aout of 17A limit with 8x4 on 4s. You probably...

    Best Budget Tx

I am looking for a Tx/Rx fairly cheap. I only need 6 channels and most range in my budget. I have looked at both the spektrum dx6i and FlySky FS-TH9X. I like the looks of the spektrum, but which has the longer range? Also what are some others in this approximate price range?

    too much too soon

That may be one of the coolest videos I have seen. :) Anyways I would suggest you build your micro. It gives you experience when you crash, and allows you to better control what you focas on with your quad. But those quads on the site look really reasonably priced.
