Haha, broken props would be a great way to measure skill xD. If you fly in a wide open area then you don't break as many. Or so I have found.

I agree with Neil that the Stevis firmware is really impressive in how much more it adds to this little board. I am surprised HK does not sell them with this firmware. May be the licensing that the firmware is released under.

It is possible, to fly without one, but it would take someone really impressive to do it. But for all practical purposes you need a stabilization board. Orange makes a receiver with built in stabilization.

Well there are wifi repeaters. You would have to get two repeaters, one for 2.4 and another for 5.8 (don't get a dual band, they can only do one a t a time) (assuming that is what your using.) These are not hard to come by.

I don't think you have burnt the motor unless you have shorted together any two of the three wires coming from the ESC. They may be DOA(defective on arrival), and if so you should ask for a return.

I use carbon fibre, but for these small props it is too expensive, ABS would be fine, but they are a little flexible. YOu want the least flexibility to have the best preformance.
