We have a very large property and would like to have an FPV quad that can fly to the far reaches of the property for security purposes (and also fun.) The property is square, about 2 km wide, with hills and big trees, so it would be impossible to fly a quad to each corner unless the pilot was standing atop a tree. So, I'm thinking that we could set up a radio repeater or two on some treetops.
We have no shortage of engineers here, so complexity is not a limiting factor.
Have you heard of a system like this and could you share some knowledge?
