    Anything I'm Missing?

You don't need the buzzer, also is there a reason you have both the KKmini and the Orange 3 axis stabilization? Also you should get a mode 2 transmitter, unless you already are accustomed to mode one. To make things a little easier, the full sized KK2.1.5 would be good. Mode 2 Tx Receiver...

Quadcopter Set-up for scientific exploration and a little bit of fun!

I think you'd be better to build something, unless you can find something with big props and a big battery.

Quadcopter Set-up for scientific exploration and a little bit of fun!

You will defiantly want something like hexacopter or 6Y, not only for lifting ability, but for redundancy. If a motor or ESC goes out you will want to be able to safely land, and not loose any equipment. If your looking for something easy to fly Naza is great, if your looking something you...

Quadcopter Set-up for scientific exploration and a little bit of fun!

The question is what you want, do you like aerial photography or the thrill of a faster quadcopter.

Quadcopter Set-up for scientific exploration and a little bit of fun!

It is easier as you don't have servos to mess with. I don't know about how much better, but it is manageable. If your fine with a price increase (maybe after you get a little practice with a quad) you could opt for a hexa copter for heavy lift, or a mini hex for speed and a little lift.

Quadcopter Set-up for scientific exploration and a little bit of fun!

Welcome to the forum, this will be a great placed to get immersed in this addiction hobby From what I can see you will want something that has a longer flight time, and can carry a little bit. For better flight times you will want bigger props, bigger props will mean lower kv motors and so...

Really impressive. Be nice to get a hold of some ripped code

    motors

Ok, so you could use 11 or 12 depending on what motor you get. And assuming you will be running 3S.

    motors

Little bigger. How far from motor mount to motor mount?
  10. GJH105775

    motors

THis would mean bigger props, so something like a 900 kv would be fine.

    motors

Ok, would you prefer speed or flight time?

    Quadrocopter robot

The Rx/Tx combo should have a failsafe built in.

    Quadrocopter robot

The KK board was chose because it is field adjustable (no laptop required) and it was cheap. Not much is needed as it was just going to be handling stabilization. However for your project something like Ardupiloet or CC3D may be better (if you'd prefer to integrate the stabilization with the...

    Underpowered ESC

Make sure to select Simonk 30A(4 PCS) at the bottom where colour is supposed to go. They do that to make cheaper amazon ads by combining ads.

    Underpowered ESC

Take a look at these, same price range, 30a, and runs SimonK (EDIT) Here are some for prime, they are a little higher.

    My first quad build

Shortening is best if they are really long, just don't get them so short they break in a crash. I like to fold them over on themselves and then zip-tie them all together. But in some cases the wires are just too long. haha

DM007 quadcopter... flies it one direction no matter how much I trim

Yeah, that should be fine. Try that and see what happens. Do you have the quadcopter on for long before a flight?
