Recommendations for Aerial Video on The Cheap

If you loose one motor on a quadcopter it will tumble and drop out of the sky, this is another reason people use octa-copters, 8X, and Y6 because of motor redundancy. For FPV (usually, but you may not handle the weight), I'd suggest getting a board camera and a camera to record with(Mobius...

Increased pitch will generally increase lift, but the biggest gain is that it will give your motors the ability to pull the quad faster with less speed. This could help wiht stability and the speed of the quad, providing the pitch is not too much, or the prop size is not too big. I use 4.7...

    Building custom 450 Quadcopter (Advice)

I just looked at your specs and noticed that you could go with bigger props. You could try experimenting with different sizes in the calculator. Get the size with the best efficiency, or thrust depending if your carrying a load.

    Building custom 450 Quadcopter (Advice)

Ah*C does in fact = amps supplied, if you go a little over that, it should be fine. This is because you are not drawing max amps for very long, and if you are your motors won't last long. Take a look at this threadt I posted.

What is BEST Quad for my needs?

Ok, well to start I am going to suggest getting/building a quad with a waterproof frame. That way if it takes a dip it will not ruin any of your equiptment. An x8 or hex may also be nice as they have motor redundancy and are generally more stable, but there may not be any waterproof...

Yeah, a Gopro would be nice. I'd suggest attaching a small wire between whatever camera you use and the frame of the copter just in case something comes off during a flight. This would save you hours of searching or having to buy a new camera.

    Need help...

A little SMD IC can be repaired with a regular iron, but it is harder, especially if it has a lot of tiny pins. The common probelm would be bridging two pins. So if you were to do it just be aware of that before you put power to it.
