Clipping props affects the thrust and speed a LOT, it also reflects on the amp draw. If you need help designing a prop clipping rig I could help.

You would need a different flight controller for the altitude hold. Have you learned to fly fairly good yet? If not you might want to learn to fly with just stabilization first. Also what size is the quad you are building?
