So I know this is a forum about quadcopters but...

Apparently they've sold it for awhile now, but this one was purchased a few years ago. One of my biggest questions is how do I attach the flaps to the wings? It comes with these little things that look almost like paper gaskets, and from my understanding I glue one end of them to the actual...

Maybe a fixed wing section, and a helicopter section would be nice. Off topic would still be nice too though lol

Yeah, I had that thought last night right before I fell asleep lol. I was still thinking series for some reason

    newbs first build help please

Then you would be at 6s, definitely not a good idea for 12a esc's and motors with a max draw of 11a

    newbs first build help please

I have multistar elite 2204 2300kv. For the range of motors that will get a 250 in the air the most is gonna be probably 2400. More kv isn't always better, it's about the balance between kv, prop size, and amp draw

Look on hobby king, they have some cheap tx/Rx combos

Yeah, a 5.8ghz rhcp antenna. Once it gets nicer out im going to find a nice field and a stupid friend willing to stand at one end of it with a radar gun while I fly at him, im assuming it can do something like 50mph. Racing isn't really about straight line speed though, it's about being able...

    newbs first build help please

This is a 5 inch prop, you can tell even a 6 inch would be pretty much scraping the supports for the frame. There is no advantage to having anything bigger than 6 inches, at that point you would need bigger, slower motors, which means you need bigger esc's because spinning a larger load is...

    newbs first build help please

The lower kv the motor is, the more torque it will produce, in a sense. You need larger props because they spin slower, so the larger prop produces more lift. The reason you can't put props longer than 6 inches on is pretty straight forward, they will hit the frame.

The top plate on the blackout is a little different, the zmr is its own style frame. I actually have a FPV racer built on that frame. For how much they are asking, it's a pretty good kit. Everything is about middle of the road, as far as quality goes

    newbs first build help please

All four esc's will need to be soldered to the power distribution board, with a common lead for the battery. Your cc3d flight controller will run libre pilot, and most motors/esc's these days come with bullet connectors already on them, although you won't be needing to swap them out barely...

    newbs first build help please

I had to let my eyes stop watering there for a second. For general advice: watch lots, and lots, and lots of youtube videos. I mean days worth. Flite test, rc model reviews and painless 360 are all great channels. As for the battery question, I would stick to 3s, Which means 3 cells in...

So I know this is a forum about quadcopters but...

I'll let you guys know how it goes, it looks like loads of fun to me and you could build your own frame out of foam from any craft store if you wanted. The servos and control arms are going to be interesting to figure out how and where they go but after that it should be a fun little build

So I know this is a forum about quadcopters but...

Here's just one more reason we need an off topic board. I got this foamy from my dad, I was telling him that I needed a new project, and he pulled this red eagle Gee bee out that he has apparently had for a few years. He also has a huge box full of escs, random motors, props, servos and a...

That is exactly the point, maybe I should have mentioned that. They are self tightening prop nuts

    Motors

Good lord that is a huge motor. It is strange that it doesn't tell you which way the thread is going on the prop adapter, maybe at checkout they will let you choose? I'm not sure I don't deal much with hobby king, but I know they usually advertise them as CW or CCW, depending on which hardware...
