I don't know about those motors for a 250 size frame. Too big (size/diameter/weight) and the KV is too low, needs a bigger prop than a 250 has room for. Something in the 22xx size and 2200+ KV would be better. If your bud needs a radio this seems like a very nice package...

You should note that flight controllers these days have many of these same settings available in their software, throttle curves, stick scaling, expos etc.
