Anyone else with this X5C-1 issue/Problem

I have not experienced, or heard of, the throttle issue you described. Hope the board fixes it for you. Mine just stops and falls out of the sky as soon as it flashes. Like you, I now time my flights. I have been using cheap chargers for my batteries and when I checked a newly charged pack of...

I have gone thru 2 cheap chargers that came with the multi packs. One undercharged and now the...

    Syma X5C-1 ESC symptoms

One more thing. How many flights on your motors? Around 40ish is usually the max although it would be rare for all four to fail the exact same way. Have you ever cleaned and lubed, very, very lightly, the gears?

    Syma X5C-1 ESC symptoms

Have you tested your battery(ies)? For all the motors to slow at once has 2 main possibilities; the battery or the FCB has a component overheating. I had a little Helimax 1si and had a similar problem that turned out to be the charger( cheap little dude) was not fully charging the batteries.

    Overlapping Props

Go ahead and laugh, but I have plugged in a KK2 , told it the basics and then flew perfectly fine on the factory settings. Proof that ya don't have to program a damn thing to fly and have fun. Just keep 'er square. Hahaha!! Just 'cause I can't spell "maff" or "prawsessin'" is no reason to make...

    Overlapping Props

Agreed. I was addressing the kind of quads most common to our hobby and ONLY the mechanics of how the different designs accomplish their goals. NOT the electronics or the mixing of different props and motors. Nothing exotic. Just regular ol' quads.

I think I can clarify part of this. I had a discussion about drones with my brother-in-law who is a Boeing engineer. I was asking him about different quad designs I was interested in. He stated that the + and X quads(square) are the most stable in flight because no matter what the axis, DURING...

Wow! Do you know why he has 2 pieces of noodle facing up and 2 facing down? Do you think he's tweaking the airflow? I bet he's a huge hit at air meets!

    Overlapping Props

I agree with your point,Jackson, particularly with racing quads. Designing in a planned amount of instability greatly enhances agility. Just like fighter jets are purposefully designed that way. They rely on computers to maintain the flight of an airplane that normally would be unable to get...

    Overlapping Props

I haven't overlapped any but when I think of octocopters it could work. For example, if you mounted the front motors facing down and the rear motors facing up I don't see why that wouldn't work. The props are going opposite rotations like the octo's. Personally I would extend the rear arms...

    Remote Locator for Quad?

I got one too but I never installed it. Did you ever try yours?

    Overlapping Props

Looks like it's gonna be a good looking quad! I noticed something that might help you on two fronts. A quad will fly better when it's wheelbase is "square". In other words the dimensions from motor to motor front to back and side to side are all the same. the other benefit is you will have the...

Newbie, fast learner. How does flying quads compare to RC helicopters?

Dreams and plans for those dreams are a good thing! Sounds like you have both. When you start building you'll catch the disease and then it's all over. Hopefully your family will understand............ Hahaha!!
