Charger arrived, feels like a quality product, thinking about building the charger into a rigid 22" organizer tool box with a couple 12v 9ah SLA batteries for portable lipo charging. Will likely install some air circulation fans to keep everything cool.

The altitude control keeps it from landing, get it low and hit the emergency stop, that's how I land mine. Calibrating the drone on level ground helps the flight, once paired, hold both sticks to the bottom left corners till the lights stop flashing.

In the next couple weeks I should be getting an elfie plus, will see how it flies.

Most commonly, what type of battery is used for racing drones and such. 4S? I have some projects in mind that are not drone related and would be nice to have 1 general type of battery I could center the projects around.

I am less than a week in and have 2 drones with others to mess with coming and I am likely moving too fast but I want information to see if this is a road I really want to venture down. I'm still learning to fly and control and will have several to practice with and crash but what is catching...

My first drone is an HS400, this Monday marks a week of having it. Not suited for indoor flying, uses a 7.4 2000mah battery. Good to learn on. I got mine for about $63 so not too bad.

My aim is bad, I'd have better luck with a chainsaw. Maybe I could modify a paintball gun with a similar reel setup for precision delivery of the line...

Given the low power for transmission, I would not expect it to be an issue. I have some basic HAM handheld radios, I will eventually get my license, I can listen in on the local tech nets and they usually broadcast daily when the offer the testing for the local areas.

Sounded to me like for the muscle memory, instinctual stick control for flying. And then some simulators which allow for unlimited training without having to worry about drone training with limited run time with the battery needing recharged, crashing with having to reset the drone or replace...

This interests me, I have many light weight extra antennas from small handheld HAM radios...

I'd go with the suggestions from the other members, I'm still new to this. The 30 meters sounded to me like about the max range of a wifi type flight control based on things I've read while learning about drones.
