Some quads can fly autonomously, but I've only seen evidence of it on TED talks in context of university research. I'm sure the government and academia probably have more advanced stuff that we don't know about. But yes, the movies and TV sometimes put far-fetched stuff out. I recently watched...

LOL - I think I'd rather have "death by a thousand cuts than a direct hit to the crotch. When I first started flying my toy quad, I never really thought about any danger. Until I read somewhere (on this forum I think), that they should be thought of as flying lawnmowers with pics of injuries...

Yeah it’s got plenty of room and the trees are easy to avoid - if you aren’t me :p I was flying my new mavic air. I bought it mainly for videos and to have something that almost flies its self for the wife and kids to also use. Turns out that it’s pretty fun for me too. It tops out at 40mph so...

I thought I lost it, but thankfully watching the video helped me find which tree it hit. Made me glad it came with extra props. I'll also say that black perhaps isn't the best quad color when it lands in black mud.
