hi guys,

Newbie here, I got my x8g recently and still learning how to fly it. In one of my first flight i somehow crashed my quad and broke the camera power supply cable. I checked online for replacement but it will take a couple of weeks to arrive. now i just want to know it there is a way for me to fix or make a DIY power supply cable so i can still use the camera while waiting for my order. Thanks

Ouch!!!....hopefully it didnt damage the port on the camera as well....youre pretty much at the mercy of shipping before you will be recording again..I hope the camera is ok.

i think the camera is ok. i was thinking of just buying an action cam that will fit the camera case of x8g, any suggestions guys?

Im not sure of a camera that mounts directly with the stock case...Usually most buy an upgraded gimbal to mount a better camera.

Also check out youtube to see how people are mounting cameras..alot of good home made mounting options to choose from.

I've noticed that on the X8G, there are three wires connected to the camera. A black one ehich I presume to be a neutral or ground, and two other wires, which I presume activate video and photo functions. I've been thinking about installing a SPDT toggle switch wired to the "hot" lead for the photo function, with one side eired to the camera jack for normal function, snd the other side to a stereo jack to power a relay or servo for future experimental projects. Is this practical using the normal photo button on the controller as a momentary contact switch to activate the auxilary function? I'm looking at possibly creating a low-tech cargo drone, capable of picking up and/or dropping a small object or package, without damage.
