Wives and helis dont mix

Hi Guys I was out flying my Goblin 630 comp and it started a ticking sound so I landed it took it home I fixed the problem and said to my wife I will just run the last 3 packs through the heli in the garden
I was on my last pack had 1 minute to go But i didnt know my wife had come up behind me then she said very loud in my ear Neil god I jumped out of my skin but I had my thumb on the stick the heli was only 9 inches off the deck , OMG to late one write off
main blades
frame both sides
tail boom
ESC went up in flames
2x servo arms
both skids and alloy mounts bent and one screw ripped out of alloy
So Far cost is £550 and going up

Told my wife the story, she laughed and a bit more than I thought proper ....

In that video the helicopter sounded like it suddenly kicked in a jet engine. Was there a jet passing over?

BTW, SUPER COOL!!!
 
Hi Guys yes have to stay below 60 feet as the airport is only 2 miles away and i am under the flight path . as for learning to fly helis it took me 6 months to learn to take off. hover then land for the first 4 months it worked out £30 for 20 seconds of flight due to crashes , but once mastered is so much fun this is my other helis
 
That Cobra sounds just like a real helicopter when it spins up. It sure would be fun to do some forced perspective video using that.
 
Hahahahaha, two very expensive "hobbies".

I'd certainly like to see more heli post, it is certainly a great hobby.

Really enjoy hearing those fly too, the sound is a lot more realistic than I would have thought, then they have some pretty cool flight characteristics.
 
I agree. In a world of "quadcopter this" and "quadcopter that" its great to see these helis fly. Thanks for the vids, and great flying (love the
landing on the pad with the cobra)
 
Yeah im pretty big into nitro cars/ trucks. Got bit by the bug when I was a kid and its kinda followed me. I must have 10 vehicles if not more amd maybe 6 quads. Fun stuff!!
