Wing out of the blue

Esc & motor work on Betaflight.
On this setup.

No servos on this but makes no difference. IMG_20180716_221248987-1024x575.jpgrunning the latest firmwares
But i get this message.
In mixer tab. IMG_20180716_221411636_HDR-1024x575.jpg
I get this on the servo tab. IMG_20180716_221508578_HDR-1024x575.jpg
& this is a preset for my model, which ain't working. Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhh.

I just noticed your using a zop, cowboy.
What you think. Mine lasted about 6 cycles before puffed up. Never again.

The esc in your picture above Jackson is a simonk. That's what I started off with.
& not long ago I threw 2 away.
Thinking what can I do with two.
Well now I know.

So the problem was you have to match the FC firmware with config firmware
1.9.1 with 1.9.1
I had 1.9.3 with V 2.0 rc3.
So I deleted the latest & took an earlier firmware only to hit one major pain in the grass. There was a NW. js file somewhere on my pc which is basically only used for flight programs but could I heck find it I uninstalled & deleted every single file that had been modified this month except for one that was nothing to do with RC. Pc was empty except for inav & drivers. Yet still not letting me open the config tool. So i tried a restore :( nothing so I reset my pc & re-install the drivers flight programs WiFi Bluetooth.
Match inav wares. & now its all going.
Inav is running with motors in the motors tab & servos in its tab. So this time tomorrow it will be finished but maidened Saturday afternoon :) after work. The green spray was rubbish so I got a different brand. Orange this time.
So people will have problems going back to an earlier version of inav if they delete the latest version they have saved. Best just leave it on there. Because I could not find a way to find the NW file. It doesn't delete either as it's stored or cached somewhere else.
The only file I had left was modified yesterday but when you look in it there was 3 from 2015. & not letting me get rid so a reset it was. I'm still learning.

I'm just waiting for the paint to dry & then I'll put the rods & horns back on & lastly Solder it all up. Everything is in place with all wires cut to length

Could someone suggest a brushed motor for this size wing. What would be the equivalent or a bit more thrust than a 2205. I got a brushed 20amp doing nothing & I could put it in the next one.

Just the rx to go in.

I've just decided I'm going to move an antenna to the bottom, trailing back.
Maiden in the morning :)

I never got round to the maiden as still having an issue with arm & throttle.
Endpoints.
1105
1500
1900
1000
All modes are on correct channels
Aux channels on right switches
Rx tab in inav all corresponds.
Only when I arm, it throttles upto about 25% (no air mode) stick does nothing.
& to boot it will let me do arm in any tab in inav. With USB in. o_O

Sorted now & guess what weather turned but clearing up midweek so I have changed a few things. I took thr motor mount off & put the motor back in the original place as putting it further back added more weight to the rear of the CG.
Needing more ballast in the nose.
This thing already weighs 375g all in without lipo. I need to add about an ounce or a bit more on top of the lipo weight to get CG or atleast a bit nose heavy.

Moz, what was the fix for your endpoints issue?

Well, I got onto YouTube watching pavel scrlalky or something, who is a major contributor to the inav code. Who says it's normal to have less stick travel on angle/horizon while bench testing.
2 fixes
Raise the percentage in the tx adjustments or mess with piff.
As soon as I can get out I'll jut auto tune & trim it. See what happens. Got a bit more movement in all modes with most being manual or acro. It may be OK or it may need turning down.

Just added some ballest to get the CG & it's now weighing in at 470g with a 4S. I had to take the motor off the mount to bring the CG forward. We will have to see how noisy it is.
Wind has died down & the sun is back out so tea time tonight I'm definitely out to the beach.

Finally got out today & it's not good.
Its intact its working just some loose stuff after about 20 failed throws.
I am not having a good experience with iNav. Many problems like nav launch not kicking in, even though the commands to get out of it work. Hardly any surface movement in modes except manual.
Even though I maxed everything out for endpoints & rate. Apparently your supposed to get better surface control once the throttle is high enough.
75% stick for about 6 seconds with what looks like no help in angle or horizon mode due to hardly any surface movements. I tried all the different ways to throw it but the nav launch just wouldn't kick in. My last throw was so hard & high I chipped the lid & couldnt find the piece to glue back on.
So that was it session over & heading home for a some mods & a rethink on Whether to try betaflight setup & see what gives with servo throw.
Failsafe worked but I didn't really want to throw a maiden on manual with what seemed like angle mode wasn't working.
The GPS is on its way but even with that on & setup to get it upto a certain height & loiter while I get my gigs on. There's just not enough servo throw for anything to react.
So I couldn't even trim or auto tune.
So starting again with an old board before I kill this new one. I haven't flew a quad in over a month now.

Trying to accomplish just keeping it up.
Hardly any Surface movement in angle or horizon Not enough to counteract anyway. Full throttle & full back on pitch & it just bombs. CG is on the line & it's below the expected weight, especially after it being reworked last night.
Nav launch failed & doesn't seem to be any stabilisation. Getting loads of throw maybe too much in acro/manual mode.
But hardly anything in ang/hzn.
Aswell as the messing with firmware,
Not picking it up as easy as betaflight
Or cleanflight. I might try the latest revision on the spf3 if not I'm going to try running it on Betaflight.

Delta wings are dirt cheap to build. Dollar Tree foam board is only a dollar, need 2 sheets.

Wing_1_43.jpg

It was too damned fast and needed a lot of room though, had to go a 2S lipo and a smaller prop.

I started cutting one of of these slo-fly planes, they look like fun.

How's the flight performance?

OK so I'm back with betaflight & have a 90% setup going. All Is configured rx working I managed to get the servos working with sticks in motor tab.
Only the servos don't move, only on lipo plug in. They correspond the correct way on motor tab. But I still got my original problem.
The esc calibrates but when I try to spin the motor up it twitches. Not a normal twitch where you get some loose travel on the prop. Its like every pole on the magnets is catching. Then after about 3 seconds it beeps & shuts off.
Works fine on a quadx setup or servo tester. I tried pwm for protocol & went to the lowest firmware blheli has to offer then tried Oneshot multishot. With no joy. Ppl have gotten blheli working on a wing but no-one is having this problem or sharing there fix.
