Wiley Coyote imitator

Stupid is as stupid does! Guess that gave them something to think about! Probably can't change that feature without destroying the ESC.

serves the scum right but wouldn't you crap yourself seeing it coming back ready to blow up and there is nothing you can do ..... except run perhaps if you noticed it in time

I'm hoping this is really news lol

I'm suspicious. If there was a bomb attached to the drone when it exploded, I would have expected the drone to be pretty much obliterated, not like what was pictured. Also, if the quad actually flew back home, I'd hardly expect the guy who launched it to stand around as it landed. Methinks this is fake news.

Note the term 'file photo' = photograph that is representative of the subject being discussed, or may have been taken prior to a current news incident.

Explosives work a little funny. Take a "cartridge" and throw it into a fire. Most people expect the actual "bullet" to detonate and to go flying off as if it was shot from a weapon. Not so. The two basic components of a cartridge are the bullet and the case. The case being substantially lighter than the bullet and not within the confines of a weapon chamber and barrel will go flying off much further than the bullet. Neither one will attain anything like the velocity if fired from a weapon. I would not stand next to the fire. It would probably still hurt o_O

The point being that the explosion on the quad will radiate in all possible directions. Part of the explosion will drive the quad away from the explosive in open space and with no resistance the damage will not be all consuming.

But then, I have been wrong once this year so maybe:cool:

No I have not. Not having any details of the setup. Was it Semtex? C4?

Now what did our illustrious terrorist have access to? Black powder? Dynamite? A bunch of powder from some 105 shells??

I will say this.

The first quad was sitting on the ground with an explosive charge under it. Basically you now have a shaped charge. So it expends most of its energy going up. Up into the drone.

The second quad got hit with the Barrett (.50 caliber although there was something different about it than the military version.) was of course in mid air. But getting hit by a .50 is going to tear you up. With or without explosives. You will notice that there were some much bigger pieces left over than in number one. But again, it may have been a shaped charge. Don't know.

Anyway, just giving you a viewpoint. I dont really care what it was. The guy is dead.

I don't know why they were whooping and hollering?? Spark +Air + explosive you get a bang.

Have fun.

Morality worries

So, here we are making fun of a poor soul's misfortune. Is it appropriate to do this?

Um...
