Very green and wet behind the ears Newbie Building a ZMR-250 ... but stuck!

I bought a cheerson cx-10 for my grandson in March of this year for his birthday. I bought an extra one for me. So i could play with him at the park. Well. I got hooked. I started reading and watching You-tube videos about how to fix those little darn things when you have to change the blades. Well to make a long story short I stumbled upon a video made by RCreviews. In it he builds his own quadcopter! I instantly wanted to make one.. however.. I did not know a thing about soldering, electronics, programming, or anything close to that. I am a caregiver by profession so my work experience doesn't come close to any of these skills. So I set out on a quest to make one. I have been buying bits and parts since July and in November got the last pieces in and started building it. I did all the wiring correctly per this You tube video. Well I don't have tons of money and decided to buy the 9xr PRO rather than spend $200+ on a Better radio at this time. So I bought a Frsky receiver the D4R-II, and the module I bought was a Frsky DJT. Now I don't know the first thing about setting up the 9XR Pro. Is there any difference between it and the 9xr? Can anyone tell me a good source of info on setting up the 9xr pro with the Frsky receiver and module I have? I am the point in my build where I need to bind my brand new 9xr pro with my gear. Problem is I don't want to mess anything up. I have done this all on my own and i live in a small town of 10,000 or less with no RC clubs or anything close to this. So I'm completely on my own on learning this new hobby

any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Welcome to QuadcopterFourm,
The Turnigy 9XR is a a nice, but limited transmitter, while the Turnigy 9XR Pro is a professional grade transmitter, and is a lot more upgrade-able like the Specktruim DX7, and . There are many modules that you can add to do different functions like long range, aesthetics, or ease of use.
What module are you using in the radio, or what is the link for what you have bought?

Here is the list of what I bought as far as the Tx/Rx and the module.
-NEW FrSky DJT - JR ACCST 2-Way Telemetry Module for all JR socket Transmitters
-FrSky D4R-II 4ch 2.4Ghz ACCST Receiver (w/telemetry)
-Turnigy 9XR PRO Radio Transmitter Mode 2 (without module) (AR Warehouse)
I got it to bind. The Baseflight program i went through according to Rcreviews walk through. But im having troubles with how to work my switches.. I so confused on what switch does what. And that makes for the set up of the mode selection very unerving. However i do see the transmitter showing up and doing things when i move the transmitter arms. Just not what Rc reviews does! He also says he runs in Mode 1. My transmitter is Mode 2. anyhelp you can give would be great! and thank you in advance!

Thank you Holtneil. However, The problem I am having is how to assign Aux switches and such. The second problem I am running into is that after i disconnect from the Baseflight app. Nothing will work. Nothing on my Tx will trigger anything to work with the Rx..... I am also frustrated at the fact that this $69.00 Tx might be a malfunctioning unit... the speaker shorts out and there is no sound coming from it at all. I am thinking about biting the bullet and buying a frsky taranus... That way I won't have to jump through hoops from another country if its a malfunctioning unit :(
