"The Specificed URL Cannot be Embedded as Media"

WTF? I upload a pic to Photobucket and then copy the URL for the photo off of Photobucket. I open up a post here and hit the Media button. It asks me to paste the URL into the field. I do it and hit Embed. Then I get this message: "The Specified URL Cannot be Embedded as Media."

That's the first time I have run into anything like that. Photobucket is one of the premier sites for photo sharing.

What's going on?

The media button only works for videos (maybe other stuff) from the sites listed on the Media pop-up box: Dailymotion, Facebook, Liveleak, Metacafe, Vimeo, YouTube

For pictures, use the image button just left of the media button. That should work for images hosted just about anywhere.

I like the free Postimage for pics.

Here I simply direct pasted the red arrow> Hotlink for forums. With the blue arrow> Direct Link would work with this forums image icon as was described.

FWIW you can also upload pics by using the Upload a File option at the bottom of the page, , in this case I'll also move the pic towards the center using the indent icon . I'll put the cursor where I want the image and click Full image once it's uploaded to put it in the body of the text.

Thanks. I will check out Postimage. Photobucket has gotten way too greedy. BTW, that second pic is really charming. You live in Montana?

Postimage. I'm registered and ready to go. Thanks, Jackson! :) This is our vacation home away from home - the Marriott Resort in Newport, CA. We get down there for a couple of weeks each year. This year, I'm taking my Phantom 4, of course. Think there might be a good video or two lurking down there?
