Just took my x5c-1out of the box about two hours ago. I charged the battery according to the instructions. I plugged the battery in and did all the little things with the transmitter that I was instructed to do. The Quad lights come on and flash, however the blades won't turn. Are the lights supposed to blink as opposed to a steady beam?

You need to bind the controller to the quad.
Move the throttle all the way up then all the way down. You should hear a series of beeps and then the lights will be steady.
This has to be done every time you turn the quad on.

Thanks for the info. However, I've doing everything that you said to do,and the Blades will still turn and the lights still keep flashing?

Which mode are you in and which control stick are you using?
The left one should be your throttle. Turn all off, quad and controller.
Move left stick all the way down.
Turn on quad.
Turn on controller, wait for it to start up, about 5 seconds, but wait 10.
Push let stick up until it stops.
Push left stick down until it stops.
You should here a short series of beeps (I am in Colorado and my my quad is home in Florida so I can't tell you how many).
The controller should work now.
Is this what you are doing?

I'm in mode 1,recharged battery and did exactly as you said. I hear the controller beep with left stick up and bring it down. when laeft stick all the way down, transmitter light stays solid. Still won't work. I'm about ready to send this thing back and forget this project!

Don't give up, that is a great little quad to start with. Maybe someone else can give you some ideas. I have had two of them and they both had no problems binding.

You may have a bad one or a bad controller. But don't give up. If you need to return it get another one. It is a blast.

If you're moving your throttle up then down and it beeps once in each position and the light goes solid, then it IS binded. But you may need to recalibrate it. Try this

With the Syma TX I have even without a quad in sight or even on, when moving the throttle up/down (beeps for each) the blinking light will go solid on.
