Syma x5c-1 starts than dies. Ideas?

Hello All,
I'm new to quads and having fun. I bought a Syma x5c-1 over Christmas and have gotten decent at flying it. I've had no issues until today. I took it outside with a fully charged battery (about 10 previous flights on the battery). Paired it with the TX as normal. LED's all acting normal. Give it a little throttle and get 6 inches of lift off than bam! it falls to the ground. LED's start flashing and propellers stop turning. If I push my throttle forward than back again the LED's stay solid, I get 6inches of lift again and than BAM! If falls to the ground. I've tried charging the battery again but get the same results. It acts like its resetting or losing connection with the tx. Not really like the battery is dead. Normally when it's dead the LED's flash constantly until I charge it. In this case I can stop the LED's from flashing by moving the throttle fw and back. Then I'm ready for 6in of lift before it dies. I would really love some help on this.
I also put new batteries in the Tx with no change.
Thanks, Tony

New alkalines in the radio.

I don't have another battery yet. I live in Panama City, Panamá right now. I've ordered some but things move slow here. I went to the local hobby shop here in Panamá and they wanted $25 for the battery and $189.99 for the x5c-1. WTF! Luckily I have access to Amazon and usps. Most people here don't. When I get home tonight I'll test my battery voltage and see what it says.

I stopped by and put a meter on my battery. It's 4.21v. It's not dented, swollen or damaged in any way. It's only had about 10 flights on it. What I did notice is the quad symbol on the display flashes. When I apply lift the quad takes off (with plenty of power) for about 1.5-2 seconds and then dies. Leds start flashing on the quad and the Quadcopter symbol on the Tx display starts flashing.

I would bet money the problem is with the quad's LiPo battery. Some of them behave erratically. Aside from that it sounds to me like your x5c is fine.

Have you been following the fifteen minute rule? In case you don't know what that is, always wait fifteen minutes after a flight to recharge the battery (that's important). Give them a chance to cool down.

Also, you can significantly prolong the life of your bird's motors by waiting ten minutes between flights and let them cool down.
