Syma X5C-1 repairs... Can't lift camera

A short time ago one of the motors stopped working on my X5C-1. I replaced it with no issue, however, I noticed that it didn't have the power it used it. In fact, it would hardly get off the ground.

After some testing I discovered that if I took the camera and batter cover off, it worked perfectly. Once the camera was on, it really weighed it down.

Any ideas on what may be the cause here?

As a note, I am seeing some wierd stuff with the green lights (not bright enough) and sometimes my throttle and/or direction stick for 1-3 seconds while up in the air. Not sure if this helps.

Agreed. That or a bad controller board or transmitter.

Open it up. Get a magnifier. Go over any suspicious looking connections with a soldering iron.
If no improvement...replace the main board. (About $10)

I have several X5C-1's which allows me to test them with different transmitters etc.
Since the transmitter sends the throttle signal to the Drone, it "could" always be the transmitter as well.

Did you ever notice the low power condition BEFORE replacing the motor?

Do this....

Get a Multitester. Check the resistance across the "new" motor leads and write down the value in ohms.

Now check the other 3 and write down their resistance values.
If the resistance on the motor you replaced is higher than the others...you got a bad "new" motor"

Thanks for the suggestion here. I'm not very good with a Multitester, however, I have noticed that when hand spinning the blades, the new motors had more 'resistance' or stopped sooner than their counterparts. I decided to order 2 new motors and pull the 'old new' ones see. Lo and behold it works great! It can lift the camera just fine now!

Thanks!
