Surprising what can be had for $52 these days

Another thing... I read the specs on this quad. I did not see a specification for motor type. So, how can one tell a brushed motor from a brushless motor?

If it doesn't say brushless in the description it will be almost certainly be brushed. You are unlikely to find a RTF brushless for £40. The cheapest i know of is the MJX Bugs 6 at £53 which is actually a pretty good deal.

Brushless motors are on the outside of the case for cooling reasons. The propeller is fitted straight onto the threaded shaft on the bell of the motor. Brushed motors tend to be in an enclosure offset to where the propellers mounts. As they are driven by a small cog / big cog system. Look at where the propeller attaches on a brushed model you will see a white plastic shaft.

This quad says it's a 1080p camera but i wouldnt expect any better quality than the 720p offerings tbh.

From a quick glance it looks like a DJI Phantom but it's miles apart. It is very small like the size of a Syma x5.

Just from the description of some problems, you know it's a brushed motor. But the $52 says it all. You can't get a set of brushless motors for less than $40
& that's 1104-6 size. Probably would be a good flier but it should be made very clear that as soon as the props touch somthing other than air, Cut that dam throttle,as the pinion gears are made of plasticine err plastic.
