So, here's the plan...

OK, so you were right, one of the motors was wired incorrectly!

I managed to get it into the air but it was incredibly unstable so I think I need to get the self-level stuff enabled.

I also think I need to recalibrate the ACC because I don't think it was "flat" to begin with, but I've had it flying!

:)

Hi glad it flys , what firmware have you got if its Hobby king firmware thats why, you need to flash it with steveis v1.18s1 pro this is very stable , you can still put it in stable mode using the transmitter sticks , hold cyclic to the right and then while you hold it arm the board

I'm working my way up to flashing the board with Stevies Firmware. I'll try and fly it with the stability mode enabled later on this week.

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Mat its not hard to re flash it , I can help you with how too , when your ready
Here is a few things to check first
is the CG on quad right
is the board level on the quad
is the quad level when you calibrate the board
on the stick scaling make sure throttle is not over 90%
on min throttle setting on the board adjust this so all motors stop and start at the same time, default is 10 to get my motors to start at the same time i am at 20

Wow, so well over a month since I last had any time to have a go on this and I've just managed to maiden it then crash it quite spectacularly!

The auto-level kicked in fine and take off was beautiful, however during the hover one of the hubs that holds the rotors onto the motors came unstuck and whilst I have the blade and the spindle, I no longer have the base and the top, so I need to take a trip to a model shop at some-point this week and purchase a new set!

Thankfully nothing else on the quad was broken and it looks like it will fly again very soon!

Cheers,

Matt

Hi mate any screw that goes into metal need lock tight ,if it was the spinner on top then we all have had one of these spin off , most of the guys just remove them and fit a nylock nut its lighter

Thanks Neil,

I bought a new spinner and rotor mount yesterday and fitted them this afternoon along with some blue loctite (the guy in the shop said that red would be pushing it!).

Fired up the quad and had it hover, pushed the sticks forward to make it fly and promptly crashed it! :D

I see this as progress - it's the first time I've managed to crash the quad because of bad piloting rather than bad engineering!

Hoping to have another go at the weekend, but it's looking unlikely as xc weather shows it gusting up to 18MPH in my area - ah well, perhaps next week...

Now, where did I put that manual on what's backwards/forwards/left/right on a KK 2.1.5? ;)

Hi mate reduce the stick scaling down will make it more fly able till you get used to it , check on monitor screen that controls work the right way
WELL DONE my friend
