SKY 30A 4 In 1 Brushless ESC 2-6S

Hi, I am building a quanum neon 250.First flight with 4in1 favourite sky 3 esc ended up in smoke from the 4in1 esc.I looked closer and realised that it came from output M4. I checked all the engines by connecting them to the other outputs and they worked just fine (Sunnysky2207s).I ordered a new 4in1 esc.Then i hooked up my cc3d card to my computer just to see that the engines turned the right way.But when i did the esc 4in1 did exactly as before it bursted up in smoke. And again when i look at the card its the same component for output M4 that is burnt.However the M4 output does work!But not the M3 output completly dead.So again I checked all the engines and they were just fine.

So please, If someone has any suggestion on what to do execpt changing into 4 seperatly ecs please help me out:)
 
I'd suggest you change to 4 separate ESCs :p.


What motors and battery are you using? You might be able to repair the ESC, but i'd probably never be able to trust it. There are some 4-in-1 ESCs that are modular, and have pretty good build quality, would you be interested is something like that? You may have used too small of ESCs, did it happen while you had the throttle down pretty hard?


EDIT: 30amp ESCs for a 250? Are you sure you are against getting 4 separate ESCs?

Thanks for your fast reply. ok maybe i go for four seperate ones then.I use 3s battery 2500mah.iIt burned before i even used the throttle during calibration in open pilot.Seems strange to me. The first time it burned the quad fliped backwards by itself and crashe Only from 70 cm. When i picked it upp the engine did not turn.then i unplugged the battery and The plugged it in again and it burned.So anoing.

How are you wiring everything?
 
Engine 1 M1 And so on.Using cc3d card combined with spectrum satelite reciever dsm.Taking power to the reciever from cc3d card 3v.and then using main port from cc3d to spectrum reciever. Then there are the cables from the esc to cc3d brown,red,orange and then the last one whiteredblack.It worked just fine the first two minutes:)

You might open it up and take a look, something sounds shorted perhaps on the 3 phase AC side.
 
Feild Effect Transistor, look like this, or often a little more square on ESCs. They convert the DC top 3 Phase AC.

Ok.Seems impossible though, im using quickconnectors with shrink tubing.Can it be if one of the motor srews comes in contact with the motor windings?

That is somewhat of a common problem. Usually the screw gets in too far and it disrupts the magnetic field, but if they were long enough it would only take one screw to short two phases.
