Review of the BAYANGTOYS X8 Quadcopter

Hello!

This is my review of the X8 quadcopter from Gearbest. I was very happy with the performance of this small quad. And the fact that a camera is included (even with a 4GB microSD) is great! Tell me what you think about the review please.

 
Looks like my x5c-1 except it has the gear guards. How does it fly outside? My x5c-1 does okay as long as the wind isn't over 10 mph. Have to be careful when the wind is gusting as it will try and blow it away.

Would be interesting to see if the parts are interchangeable between the two.

It flies just fine outside. From my experience with programming multicopters, it seems like they have decreased the P-gain. The reason why they would do that is probably to make the video from the quadcopter appear more smooth.
 
I bought one of these off Amazon last year, after getting a Striker as a gift...I thought the Striker was a great "Knock off" with better range, out of the box.....and the same camera.......Getting these...Bit me very hard and I was off and running....after flying RC planes for 30 years, this was a "NoBrainer".....
All in all...The Syma X5c and its variants, are a very cost effective way for you to get into quadcopters and not break the bank....Remember..."You get what you pay for"......Most of the time....but this Syma X5 will NOT disappoint you....parts are available online....and Syma does a pretty good job at putting out a decent product....This has a 6 axis gyro for stability, 2 speed modes will do 3d eversion( Flips)
The Camera is ok at best...some "Jello" is always going to be present with a solid mounted camera on an electric copter
WARNING........The X5...Out of the box range is "Scary" short...meaning...DO NOT get very far away at all....50 meters at best and it will fall out of the sky shortly after that..

HOWEVER.....the bright people around the world have posted many Youtube Videos carefully walking you through a Tx range modification that takes longer to disassemble the housing of the Tx, than it does to perform...range will increase out to 100+ meters
All in all....The Syma X5 is well worth the 45 bucks/free shipping that I paid on Amazon.com
PS...I just stepped up to the Syma X8c and will write a review later....

Jeez....I really hate to say this but...That is NOT a Syma X8...I don't know why Bayangtoys calls it that....
It is an X5...I own both...but I do agree that they are great copters for the money, and are fantastic to keep up your skills indoor, when the weather is bad...I have flown mine outdoors at the coast with a slight breeze....and I have flown it sooo high you could hardly see it...after the Tx mod...that is.....
I have three blade props for mine also, and they look cool....
 
Knock off's do that.....I have an X1..an X5C1...and an X8C all genuine Syma...
and a host of others like the JJRC H8 Mini....UDI U27 3d....
and a Syma X1...With a JJRC H8 Mini multiboard grafted in....running 500mah batteries
You talk about creating a hotrod....it has the brain of something stable and small, and very quick....... with the size and power of a 180 size copter.....it is real fun now....the X1 has a very slow response radio and is a slug.....not any more....but for a 27.oo dollar copter it turned out great....
Then...If you have seen the hideous look of the new Syma X8 Tx...white with red accents...it looks gay, in my opinion...I took all the "Chrome" pieces off the now, unusable X1 Tx...and swapped out with the red pieces on the X8 Tx...and swapped the stick balls for the black ones...NOW it looks real cool....
