Hi so as everyone knows the range on the x5hc is horrible so I followed you tube videos and added a antenna from a old router I had laying around. After putting it all back together the lcd display don't come on the blue light comes on but stays solid and no beeping please help

Not familiar with the mod, but I assume you are putting something like a RP-SMA connector on it and a 2.4GHz dipole antenna by just de soldering the old antenna and making up the new connections. If that is the case I'd look for a short or see if perhaps you have a bad joint to where you are left with an open connection. On many transmitters if you are attempting to transmit with an open circuit you will burn up the transmitter either at a diode or a resister.
Again I'm not familiar with the mod you are talking about, perhaps @Jackson is more familiar with the problems that can arise in a mistake or fluke.
I remember seeing all those range mods for the stock Syma transmitter when I got my first X5c. Here's a tip. Forget about those mods and get yourself a Syma X8C transmitter. It will bind with your quad and has better range. A better overall transmitter anyway. $14.

Sorry about that. My mistake. I just realized you've got the Syma X5HC. That's the one with altitude hold, right? I thought you were talking about the plain vanilla X5C-1. The trans I mentioned will bind to that one.
Not sure what to tell you. Hopefully someone else will weigh in.
