I never rode my Whizzer at over 30MPH, and I never took it on the highway...just cruising around residential areas and on Desert trails.

That loos like the Honda

I would keep it under 15 MPH on desert trails because of the dust and sand.

the other advantage with that would have been that it was light to pick up, unlike mine or @Jackson 's :-)

I read a book last year about ab English chap in Australia who bought an ex postman's motorbike and rode it back to the UK. Goes to prove you don't need an adventure bike to have an adventure.

This was a bit more gutsy...a Suzuki Savage Big Single 650 c.c. 34 HP and 350 pounds.

I love the Big Thumpers! Low RPM with gobs of Torque are what grabs me!

I used to go thumpin' around in 3rd gear just above idle speed, then crank it on and feel those piston strokes kickin' me foward! I could easily count the strokes while the revs were low.

I've been riding since I was 8. Before that, I was a 'tank rider' on my dad's Brit bikes. God, how I always wanted to own a Norton Commando and a Bonney. Also a BSA Lightning.

My current ride:

Ah yes.............just an ol' hotrodder myself. This was my last serious race build..................circa 1990...........

My last wheeled rod was an 87 Honda Super Magna, V4, 700cc, 82hp motor. It had a dry weight of a little over 400lbs. Swapped out an earlier model 1100cc, 120hp motor, rode it one time, scared the hell out of me. Took it apart, sold everything except the motor. That went to the junk pile.

 ... Here's mine ! :D

The cruisers seem to be winning so far. :)

Yep, I had thought about trading that Wide Glide in for "a bagger" like a Road King or something, but it's not
like I'm using it to get groceries or anything ... lol ... plus when the mood strikes me I can pop off the windshield
and sissy bar for that more lean appearance and "bugs in your teeth" experience :p
