New X5C-1

I received a drone for Christmas, and could not get it to work correctly. I took it back to the store for a refund, then began looking on the internet for another one. I chose the Syma x5C-1, based on the reviews. I put batteries in the radio, charged the battery for the copter, and got everything to run one time. After I ran the battery down on the copter, I charged it again. Trying to play with it some more, I turn on the radio , then the copter. The blue indicator light on the radio comes on, but the LCD screen does not. The copter lights blink fast, then they go to a slow blink. I reversed the order of turning things on, and still the same thing happens.... blue indicator light on the radio, no LCD I would assume you would want the radio turned on first and not the copter, as the copter could possibly go haywire until it receives a signal from the radio. What am I doing wrong, or is something defective?

on my syma x5c when i change the battery I do the following
1. switch copter on
2. switch controller on
3.flick the throttle lever and it beeps and your away

When I turn my X5C-1 TX on the blue light blinks, the LCD screen lights but has no usuable information on it.

I normally plug my battery in
Turn on the TX
Bind the copter

That's the way I read the instructions, but that's not working now. When you turn your controller on, does your LCD screen immediately light up? Wondering if the controller has gone bad.

Yes the screen lights when switch is turned on. I would open it up and look for a loose connnection.

Did you try different batteries in the TX?

I had a package of batteries with 10-12 unused batteries, so I've tried all of them. They have never been used, and they are not expired, so I would hope all of them would not be bad.

think you need to check the conection on the quad i had the same problem although it binds and undercarridge lights bink its not getting the full charge because of bad conection not sure on fix so brought x8c now its just jello on camara

I have two x5c's. On both controllers the green on/off indicator light comes on -- but the LCD informational screen does not light up on either one. In no way does this affect function. Once you become reflexively accustomed to controlling your bird you have absolutely no need to refer to the information on this screen during flight.
