New to quads

Hello, new guy here, 55 years old, I raced off road rc 30 years ago, got back into rc racing 5 years ago racing indoor dirt oval. Bought a Blade helicopter a few years ago for some indoor flying.

Been wanting a quad for awhile now, just got a Force1 U45W Blue Jay yesterday. I ran one battery in it last night and I could get up in the air and fly around slow. I get home from work today and try to fly again but as soon as I lift off the ground it seems to have a mind of its own and just starts lifting and going sideways until I pull down on sticks to shut it off.

Any suggestions?

Read your manual, it will explain the process to "calibrate" your gyro. It's usually just a matter of pushing both sticks down and to the right until you get rapid flashing LEDs. When they go solid, you should be good to go.

Thats what I was going to tell you Sprinkler, calibrate it and if it still going sideways than trim it(look in your manual and it should tell you how).
