New...to be delivered...or not? Syma X8W

A While ago I had issues with a new Syma X8W.....it turned out to be a minor thing on the Tx but the quad is OK.
OK,because I reported it defective and a lot of bother after....the Chinese store offered me a deal....either send it back at my cost...$55 or....pay them $60 to cover their shipping cost and I get a new (tested..so they say) SymaX8W!

The one I have is Ok and flies...so I am told by the guy who has been helping me...as good as it should do.and that's going on Gumtree....and I don't really want another Syma.
So, I am 100km north of Sydney, if any body wants this at the price ( any tips or unwanted decent fizzy wine can be donated!) say so on here....
Anybody wants it and cannot pick up...I can try and change the shipping address...or sort your own out.
It's the usual routine...order pay..wait 3 or 4 weeks.

Need to know in two days or so because if it's not wanted, I will try to negotiate a store credit instead.
For those who don't know...I now have a phantom P3pro...and apart from A couple of "backyard" quads...I will later try building either a 250 or more likely 450 type off eBay where I can use PP and eBay protection!

If you take this opportunity...it's a private sale and bought as is! I am not getting involved with dealing with the stores complaints system again.
Pick up....you can fly it and check it out.

For the purists....the first quad..technically it's a defective product because the TX is "faulty"... The fault..once known...is no detriment...but they will not supply a replacement TX...return all !

I have to say I have adopted the same attitude - my experience with dealing with the Chinese stores....is not one I would inflict on others! Which is one reason I walked it a store here and purchased the Phantom! The other was cos is really good stays still when I let go the sticks! No headlong nosedive or shooting off where it should not!
That siad I have asked an eBay store - supposedly based in Melbourne - if he can get me a certain quad. Logically if he can and I buy.... I have PayPal and eBay protection!
A plus is both accounts are linked to my UK bank and if I understand right UK laws now dictate ... defective products - not as advertised etc,. seller pays RMA cost or arranges collection.
I am about to get back to the store - my offer of thenew quad as not attracted anybody - not much to gain I think - and ask instead for a a store credit - by a mini quad and wait it out then thats it for buying from China ( Even though my DJI Phantom come from China!)

BTW - Drop shipping... i had an idea to go into it and create a website - then I saw EverBuying advice to drop shippers.... "if item is defective... keep and just order another from the store".
No mention of who pays for it or who stands the loss! Gave up on that idea!

Hi Guys its not only quads at xmas my wife want some ear rings so i get them when they came one was broken , I Told them so they refunded half the cost , what the hell am I ment to do with one ear ring ,I cant buy just one of a set to make a set up , this is the China stores for you ,I still use Banggood as after sales is not bad , or through E bay and Paypal so I have some protection
But its hard not to buy from China as most web links are to there shops

Reply OK - I prefer to PP but lets move on and I can buy a working quad. That was three days ago and EverBuying have dropped into dark country and nothing is coming out! No matter what I agreed - they did nothing but up the offer... then do nothing. So when it comes to it.. the game was China Chance - as in NONE! I think I am going into a PP dispute just for the entertainment.

Hi my friend if you used PP use it to open a case , they will get the hump with you and your get some nasty messages, my wife did it was so bad PP and e bay said they would close there accounts if the nasty messages carried on , it did get sorted in the end

To be honest I have gone from being just slightly pigged off with them - for admitting they send out returns as new items and thinking its OK. Granted in some sections of sales - in local stores to online.. if an item cn be repaired or parts replaced - then OK. But being a pom I have the UK consumer laws stuck in my head. China treats selling as a lottery - you MIGHT get what you paid for and if not.... its back to local overlords kicking people around just because the can mentality. Now I am annoyed that they were playing a grind him down type of game. Today.... no response from my "ticket" nor any from a new complaint. I opened it just to complain about the person dealing with my other claim and to see what reaction it brought...none. So its PP and what looks to be a long drawn out argument - which I think they anticipated because one post about keeping the defective item and free replacement has vanished. BUT I have screen grabs and the whole ticket thread web page saved to my computer! Now its past refunds its about getting then to understand that there are people about they cannot bully. A good point in some ways, I have a an independent witness as to the item being defective and dangerous - an assistant from a "Tandy" / "Radio SHack" type electronics store - the quad flew back instead of forward and hit him! This they know because its in the ticket thread! Time will tell.......

Just got back from Sydney... checked emails.... after three days with nothing from EB - after I warned I would open a PP dispute - tonight reply is.. So sorry discussed with collegues and arranged to refund.... to Wallet! So it seems they did not want to replace anything or part with real money! I suppose in some way its a "victory" = but as I told them - How can I trust a company that admits to sending out defective items that have probably traveled around the world 3 times! I don't suppose PP would get involved to turn an unwanted credit into a full refund - but I am going to ask tomorrow!
I was hoping to get cash back and buy that Eachine 250!

Ya know..... sometimes it's better to just cut your losses and move on. I have had similar experiences with Chinese crap from ebay and got no help in resolving problems going thru ebay. The last time, I received motors that were boxed wrong. Correct part # on the box, wrong motor in the box. My response from the chinese co. and from ebay was virtually word for word what quadcopter102 got. I took the motors, which turned out to be junk anyway, and broke them with a hammer and emailed the picture to ebay. Now I only buy from ebay if no one else has it. I sold all the rest of the chinese junk, that I intially bought when I got into this hobby, for the cost of shipping only.
Take your x8 and use the parts to build something fun. There are an astonishing # of sites devoted to modifying Syma products. Buying quality is more than just the parts. A big part of it is the supplier and the service they provide. We in the US "colonies" have a large variety of quality suppliers to choose from that provide real, not copies, of parts from all over the world. I know other countries are somewhat limited but there are good suppliers the world over. Just do your research and get back to having fun!

We are writing to let you know that we have processed and completed a partial refund or full refund for order XXXXXXXXXXXXXX for you.
The refunded amount is $140.36.Please check your balance of your EB wallet to confirm. ( this was originally a credit for my first order - WLToys V686G - out off stock after I paid!)

The reason we are refunding you is that:
1. We shipped part of your order and are unable to ship out the remainder in time.
2. One or more items was/were out of stock.
3. Your recent order was cancelled.
4. We were unable to confirm your shipping address.
5. Our payment partner has unfortunately decided not to accept the payment. However, you can still submit a new order and pay with Wire Transfer or Western Union.

The "reasons" are stock answers.. and according to the rest of their reply... around $20 I had to add to the original refund I had in "wallet" from a cancelled - no stock - order is reputed to be going back to my CC - which considering I used PP...has me puzzled.
So its on the final run and my next questions will be... but will I get anything even if I order it - and if I do.... will it be new or recycled like the Syma which they did not even bother to want returning!

Wow, wish I would have read all this much sooner. I ordered a Syma x8c from Gearbest. (I know you're talking about a different website, but they seem to be just alike.) It gave me the option to pick US warehouse with 1-2 day processing and 5-7 day shipping. After waiting days and it not processed I contacted them...

Was told they oversold and only had them in stock in China now and wait 7 days to process then 30 days shipping.

I said no deal, asked for full refund and ordered a x8c from Amazon. (same price, free shipping and it arrived in 4 days!)

They countered and offered full refund plus bonus $10 if I take it all in my wallet.

I agreed, then they asked me if I wanted it refunded to my credit card.

I said either way I don't care that I already ordered one elsewhere and don't need 2 of them.

They responded and said they were shipping it out in 24 hours.

I responded and said no, give me a refund in 24 hours.

They agreed on the refund to my wallet and giving the bonus $10 and said wait 1-2 days.

It has been 7 days now, no refund and cannot get a response at all now.

It sucks too because now I kind of want to buy the Flying 3d x8 they have marked down to $195, but I just can't risk giving them more money when this isn't settled yet...

Gearbest, TinyDeals and EverBuying are "owned" by the same company. My opinion is one company - three different websites, although most if not all of these online stores do not hold a lot if any stock. The 7 days or longer "Order processing" allows them to order the item and get it delivered - for onward shipping to you.
The real issue with buying online from China is you get ZERO warranty. Your best method is buy of eBay and pay with PayPal, then at least you can get some help with faulty items. Although I have found PP next to useless and part of their intervention requires you to return at your cost any faulty items. My simple logic is... I sell you something that is faulty - I should pay to get it back as you ordered a new, working item!
Any items returned to any store - IF they have a reasonable chance of getting past a buyer.. are re-sold. As was the Syma I got.
If you paid by PayPal, I suggest you open a dispute - which gives them 20 days to respond. You are going to wait as long and longer.
They HATE paying you back in cash.
I tried BangGood - and they are not perfect but in a no stock situation after I ordered and paid,... they advised no stock - involuted a 10 wait or refund. I opted for refund.. and it went into PayPal 3 days later. They also get loads of bad feedback and send out fakes or faulty items. Its endemic in Chinese sales methodology!

In my saga - to rattle cages I opened a PP dispute the store "responder" was - lets sat Fred. OK this is perhaps a guy in the accounts who deals with PP.
A second "dispute" was a different name.
I now wonder if "our payment partner" is the actual seller and the store are dropshipping or "afffilated" to the wholesaler or whoever actaully send stuff out.
Which qwould explain a lot about the reluctance to refund to PayPal... because they cannot IF they are not seller". Also explains these 7 - 10 Order being processed delays we see.
Or it could just because certain Credit Cards are not accepted!

I had to do that once when a Aliexpress didn't send a childrens book my wife ordered and it was pretty simple. The bank went ahead and gave me the money back and they charged the company back and went through the battle so I didn't have to.

I would rather GB do the right thing so I could feel comfortable buying that Flying 3d x8. They have it for $195 when everywhere else has it for $300+. I really want one of those, but can't swing $300 right now lol.. But can I trust GB to actually come through on it is the real question.

At the risk of seeming over cynical....expecting GB or most of the Chinese stores selling ...what in effect is low priced mass produced products....is akin to expecting politicians to actually work for the best interests of those who voted them into a well paid cushy job.
There prices are low...so is the quality and reliability of most of there stock. These items are massed produced ...and most in workplace conditions any sane country would deem illegal.
They did not want my Syma back...after admitting it had already been returned and "repaired". I used the refund to buy a Devo 10. Which to be fair was delivered 10 days after the order went in...but I don't know if it's OK until all the bits ordered for a 450 frame kit arrives. I do know the factory seal is broken, so it seems to have been a repair! It's a black version...so likely to be old stock and sold off because Walkera are no longer selling it on their website...ditto the 7.
I strongly suggest you give up ideas of being honourable, it's a bum sale, get your money back via your bank....or use the refund and risk more aggravation. You would not put up with your local high street shops stiffing you...why expect a Chinese toy store to trade according to the same standards which "western" malls, stores and shops operate?

PS: average price for an X8c or w...is around us$150. eBay sellers are a better option. If you check out the MJX range....I can give you an email address and you can buy direct. Unit cost is far lower than stores...but shipping without a battery is not free.
There are quads as good and far better than the now aging SymaX8 range.
There are more quads with barometers and other stabilisation added. The Tarantula is good for wizzing around. I would suggest a few hours on YouTube, search for quadcopter101 , he has truck loads of vids covering all the latest offerings.

I am always sorry to hear about Chinese rip-offs. Their economy is in chaos and they need dollars badly. Quadcopter102's experience's should be a warning to everyone. Quality refers to not only the product itself but the vendor as well. Availability and particularly service after the sale are a big deal as the posts above show. Always, always use PayPal if you must order from China. While not perfect, at least you have a chance. If you live in the US there is no valid reason to play roulette by ordering directly from China. You have little chance of them refunding or replacing anything. Why should they? HK's US warehouses, Amazon, CNC Heli, Motion RC (veteran owned by the way) US shippers on ebay and some others are competitive and safe. I'm sorry I have no suggestions for the folks outside of the US other than to research like crazy and hope for the best.
Spending a few more dollars buying from a reputable seller will save you in the long run. (See the posts above). Be careful out there!
