The Spark is small, smaller then a soda can and can be flown by hand gestures. This helps if you are considering flying inside. 30 points on the Spark include a lot of features to consider, making this drone evolving from the inital development of the Mavic. (Remember the Phantom 2 Vision Plus? Much has happened since that product was considered contemporary.) It is suggested to ship mid June.

It's going to be very popular with the "live my life on Facebook and YouTube" crowd, I think. No, that's not a judgment...good on 'em! DJI seems to have been very sensitive to the market on this one. For the rest of us, we're going to get some new filming modes, I think. Not a bad thing if you are a quad pilot, but not so much a photographer/videographer like me! ;)

Well, as a videographer, I can see how that would not be as appealing to you. You should post some of your work on the forums sometimes.

Sorry...my phrasing was awkward there. The modes developed for the Spark (e.g. helix mode) will probably end up available on the P4 and Mavic as well. This is a good thing for people like me who are quad pilots but NOT photographers/videographers. I can use all the help I can get filming my amateur footage. ;)
