Motor has trouble spinning

I recently purchased some t-motor ms2216-9 brushless motors. Two of the four I received work perfectly while the other two stutter when power is applied. Trying to find the problem I removed the clip from the bottom of one of them and when I powered the motor up it worked, but when I put the clip back it stopped and resumed stuttering. What might the problem be and how might I go about fixing it? As for the inside of the motor, everything look fine. I also have eliminated the ESC's. Thank you for your help!!
 
The fact that when you take off the c-clip off and it works makes me think you have a binding problem. Make sure the bearings are seated properly and give them a drop of oil and see if that helps.
 
At $30 a pop I'd be looking to return them. Also 2 out of 4 being bad doesn't make sense for such high end things. Who did you get them from?
