Maiden Flight!

More like a Maiden Hop.

Agreed. I was planning on heading to the backyard but as I was getting ready the wind picked up to storm levels and the heavens opened up, so I had to test settings in the small confines of my living room.

I did a short trip FPV and was amazed how much muscle memory kicked in. Where I was slow to get off the ground and move around LOS, I took off and was into the hall in no time flat and just about knocked on my daughter's door with it. I am glad I opted for the guards because not having peripheral vision was an issue in a small space.

Aaaaaannndddd it's dead.

Got set up to fly outside, got everything going, armed and away I went. Had a mild crash in the grass and when I collected and rearmed (motor stop off) I noticed one motor not spinning and a smell.

Thought a motor went out, so I changed it out with the same results. Then saw this...

A cooked circuit on the left.

Dude I had a QX105 board installed on my 90 but the other day I had the same issue only mine actually caught on fire. After a small crash I noticed smoke and a tiny flame coming out of the circuit board. Quite disappointing.

Rule #1 Do not try soldering when irritated or pissed off.

Got up this morning earlier than usual, so I watched a soldering video, fired up the iron and with the use of my helping hands (only used one clip yesterday) I was able to solder the joints in about a minute.

Hopped into BF, made the needed setup to test and I am back in the running!

Well, at the rate I'm blowing FETs on my flight controller, I will be a master as soldering when I get the order of 100 the little buggers and start replacing them.

Two victims in as many days.

Get a higher amp esc, looks like the motors a drawing more than the esc can take. I got a hakrc 15amp that is rated 3-4S but I reckon if I use a 4 then this will happen. Or kill my little 1106 motors.
