Lipo batteries

Lithium Polymer batteries are very light in relation to their power capacities (compared to other battery types). They also allow for much higher discharge rates. The number one thing though, is the power to weight ratio. For any RC model that flies, this is very important. On the down side, they aren't as stable and don't last as long as other battery types. You definitely need to take proper care of them.

Hi,

I am new to the RC world an wondering why we can not use these types of Lion batteries? (At least nobody is using it as far as I know):

It is the something about the reduced discharge rate?
Well first off those are crap batterries. UltraFire is bottom of the rung, and those aren't even real ones. There is no such thing as a 6800mAh Li-Ion... period.

If you search on YouTube you will find a few vids on Li-Ion packs. Seems they can work OK for some easy going long flights.

If you were to try it these would be a good choice.
