a few days ago and I'm loving it! I have a few questions though that I'm sure have been asked previously but I cant seem to find the answers to. I have a SYMA X5C and the battery life is so short(5-7 mins)! Is that normal and is there anyway to lengthen the time? 7 minutes goes by way too fast! I have already ordered new batteries, but was wondering what does the mAh stand for when it comes to batteries and does it have anything to do with the life of the charge? Another question I have is I know the QC will have to work harder in windy conditions but will that make the battery get hot? Any help is greatly appreciated and sorry if the questions are stupid but I'm new to the whole QC and RC scene LOL.

Flight time is normal. hot battery is normal fighting wind and/or flying full pitch/throttle etc...

The manual says to recharge battery by plugging the USB charger into your computer. Is it alright to use a phone charge plug when charging the battery? I know a phone charge plug probably puts out more power than a USB port on a computer would, at least I think so lol. Just wondering if doing so would shorten the life of the battery, hold charge for less time or issues of that nature?

I fly 680 mAh in my X5C-1 weighs 1 gram more then the stock 500 mAh and gives me 3 additional minutes and haven't brunt a motor yet, knock wood. I always let my batteries cool to room temp before charging and I let the motors rest 15 minutes between flights. 500 mAh 14 grams, 680 15 grams.

Mah translates to battery capacity. Meaning flight time. More mah means: bigger heavier battery, longer charge times. And depending on the size of the quad could affect flight characteristics. buy more batteries.

Keep in mind that these wee beauties were designed to give their best performance with specific batteries. As soon as one steps up to a heavier battery it has to have some effect upon flight characteristics (which will vary depending upon the amount of added weight and the overall weight of the quadC; needless to say, smaller models will be affected more. Longivity of the motors will also be shortened. They do heat up more with the longer-running batteries and heat increases friction which causes greater wear which in turn reduces motor life. It is a trade-off. In other words, one can get greater flight times with greater capacity batteries, but one should expect in return to have altered flight characteristics and greater motor degradation. With the smaller quadCs one might be able to move from a 240 mAh to a 280-300 mAh battery with fewer issues than if one moved up to a 500 mAh battery, and get an additional minute or two of flight time. The choice is yours. The good thing is that the small quadCs are relatively inexpensive. It all depends upon how tight you want to squeeze the proverbial penny.
