Im done with this hobby

hit a tree this morning, didnt realize it even, not sure if i hit the tree, of the tree hit me, idk what happened - but watched on screen as i tumbled my way down and landed upside down....then i realized i had no idea where i was!! but luckily i still had video feed (since i got the battery strapped down nicely it wont disconnect very easily :) ) and was able to find it - dusted it off (love these dal props, didnt even bend) and was back in the air!

then i noticed my quad kept flying up in a weird angle....turns out the camera started pointing up when it crashed, so i aimed it back down - so thats next on my list - make sure camera is pointed properly before taking off!

charging up for another flight!

also i use spray can air duster between crashes to get off all the sand and dirt and etc. pro tip from my friend: compressed air cans are like chevron with techron for your drone - spray it clean regularly and things should keep running indefinitely :) (even a little bit of dirt in the quad can cause a short which can cause other things to break.)
Good for you man! glad you didnt give up? Those dal props are awesome. I really like these props though. http://www.fpvmodel.com/dragonfly-bulletproof-bullnose-4045-propellers-4-pcs_g1067.html give them a try sometime. Im definitely going to get a can of duster now. didnt even think about doing that, thanks!

i had some crazy crashes today....hit a few trees, crashed into cement HARD - few times i thought for sure my quad was going to be shattered, but barely a scratch - and these dal props aren't even bent!! i kept crashing cus every time i saw 2 trees close together, i wanted to zoom between them, sometimes i zoomed right through, other times the wind caught me off guard or i hit a small branch and SMASHED on the ground.

i also tried doing a barrel roll, it went nicely, so then i tried to do like 5 barrel rolls in 1 turn, i smashed the ground then shot up, and the failsafe cut in, and i just watched as my quad just fellt to the CEMENT without being able to do anything...took my goggles off and was sure the quad was gone - barely a scratch!!

i kept telling myself i should just chill out and go back to smooth flying, but then i decided to try to do a front flip - and SMASHED again lol

The bulk of people who fly quads use a blue, medium hold, thread locker on almost all screws that are metal to metal. Loctite being the biggest brand.
http://www.loctiteproducts.com/p/10/15/t_lkr_blue/overview/Loctite-Threadlocker-Blue-242.htm

You only need a tiny amount and if you are worried about it migrating just let it set a bit before you screw it in.

I actually use this. I Like the twist type applicator.

thanks a lot, i lost 2 screws today so learned my lesson and am ordering this right now :) i like the idea of gel cus im very messy with glue stuff as it is so hoping this will work out good.

i saw this guys video on how to apply threadlocker, do you agree with his method?

1. just put a small dab on the side near the tip
2. roll the screw on your finger to get the excess off
3. screw it in and never lose it again?

Theres something about my manhood that wont allow me to watch a video on loctite application. :))

Just put a thin strip down the side of the threads, wipe off the excess and crank her down.( not really... Just screw it in normal /snug. The loctite will do the rest.

Yep, just a small drop o the tip' It'll distribute along the threads when you screw it in. If you have to remove it, just heat it up a bit and it'll come right out

this mornign i went to charge by lipo and it says in my smart charger "cell 1 3.5, cell 2, 3.5, cell 3 ERROR- and basically the charger isn't recognizising the 3rd cell? what happeneed? what can i do?

im kinda getting tired of all the frustration and thinking ill just call my losses here cus its really just the same thing over and over, go fly in circles, whatever, come home,c harge battery im kinda sick of it anyways think im gonna buy a tube amp for my headphone instead idk cus really its all about just killing time, its not like anyone is going to live forever anyways so its not like i have to fly drones for the rest of my life anyways and with my anxiety disorder and depression this is literally one of the LAST things i should be getting into.

i connected my b3 dumb charger to see if i can force some voltage into that third cell, its now reading as 0.73v (with the other 2 at 3.7) so im hoping i can get just enough voltage in there for the smart charger to recognize it as a 3s battery and then balance charge it.

that didnt work, why did this happen? is it because i flew yesterday and then didnt recharge until today noonish? but then why would just 1 cell go bad? its 3.5/3.5/0.5 right now. so u got to like recharge the battery as soon as possible?

also how does voltage determine how much % the batter has fuel? cus i usually fly to 3.5v, and that leaves me with about 6% fuel....but some people say u should leave 20% after you are done flying, so would that be like 3.8 volts? this stuff is so confusing and annoying i just want to call it quits and just throw all this away in the dumpster.

im gona call it quits cus its really not that cool anyways and u cant fly very long without having to change batteries, and 1 small problem can lead to other problems and its just complete bullshit and absolutely not for people like me im going to cu tmy losses right here and just buy a tube amp and its not for me and im not goign to live forever so even if i regret it its only a matter of time til i die nayways so i just got to get rthrough the days.

Ill hate to see you go, I enjoyed your posts. But I guess this hobby isn't for everybody. I suppose if you're getting frustrated and not enjoying it it's not a hobby, it's a chore. Happy trails brother

See ya Zen. Hope you find something that doesnt cause so much frustration. This hobby can be a challenge. Its clearly not for everyone. Good luck.

Have you looked at DJI's phantoms? Nothing to worry about, and they just fly.

Just a thought
