Hey everybody, just wondering what y'all think about this racer: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...lack_Widow_260_FPV_Racer_RTF_Set_Mode_2_.html

This seems like a good deal for under $200, especially including the case, the Turnigy TGY-i6 transmitter, the battery, and the balance charger. The description states that the quad is equipped with the OpenPilot CC3D FCB, and I kind of wonder if it's the real deal, or just a clone (most likely a clone). I also like the upswept arm design, and I've never flown one like it, so I'm curious to how it would act in the air. Being a full RTF package, this looks like a good option for someone who's just getting into professional-grade/racing type drones. Let me know your opinion on it, and if anybody's got one, let me know how it is! ;)

Seems decent, the case is a nice touch, although no real info on the generic motors and ESCs. Shipping for me in the USA, UPS Express $36.28. Ouch!

I'm sure it's probably on the heavy side, not an actual competitive racer.

Yeah, I don't think this is the one you'd want to take to the races, but it might be good for some fast LOS flying, or FPV flying (with some added gear), at the park or field. It might would be good option, though, for someone new to the racing scene, or who doesn't want to shell out big bucks just starting out.

The shipping is very expensive, and that was a major turnoff for me too! It is kind of balanced out due to the low price tag.

I also noticed this FPV kit on HK, and thought that, paired with the Black Widow, it might make a great combo for someone new: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/..._Video_TX_RX_CP_Antennas_and_Camera_PNF_.html

If someone wants a good set of goggles the quantum V2 are great, I have the original quantums and would suggest that nobody bothered with the original. The newer ones solve about all of my problems with the original, including a better screen.

Check this post I made out on getting an FPV set, once you get the parts putting the goggles is very easy, everything else is pretty much PNP.

Hey guys, I just decided to buy this drone just to see how it does! I figure if I don't quite like it, I can always upgrade or mod the components. I really like the CC3D, especially because its open source, and easily modified, so that was a major selling point. I bought it from HK (coming Swiss Post Direct Channel 7-14days), so hoping it'll be here soon. I figured it would be a good time to buy, as HK was having their 48 hour free shipping special. (Said shipping would have been $60 with the extra items I added on). I got the RTF package, a few extra batteries, packs of spare props, and some other cheap items.

Anyways, I'll try to tell everybody about it once it arrives! ;)

It depends, I have had to wait a month a few times and have known people to get an item the next day. Haha, it just feels that slow xD
Yeah, I guess it all depends where you live. I live in Alabama, so I'm sure it will take it a while to get here. I know what you mean, waiting for a drone sure is hard. Had to wait a whole month for my Phantom a couple years ago (got the Phantom 2 Vision + right when it came out), and that was like cruel and unusual punishment! ;)
Not to mention waiting for drones from Gear Best (Gear Worst). BTW, I'm through with them!! (Horrible customer service, and two or three month shipping)!
