I gather that this is where everyone introduces him/herself to the "group".
I'm at the other end of the age spectrum from most that I've seen here. I started out with control line airplanes in the late 1950s. OMG, can't believe that it's been that long. I suffered through the early RC units with tubes - damnable at best. Futaba came along and introduced RC reliability at a price that more could afford. These were better times Family demands caused me to give up the sport for awhile. I got back in about 2 years ago with helicopters, but only in a small and limited way as the grandkids decided that they'd rather be couch potatoes. Upon reading about the quadCs this year I decided to go for it for myself. That I was given a crashed and non-working Hubsan Q4 h107L also helped. I'm waiting for new batteries and props. Then hopefully it will be up and flying
I live in Pearland, Texas, which is about 20 minutes south of Houston. We have lots of great flying areas here. It also helps to have an house with a great room with high ceilings Next spring I am looking forward to scaring away the mockingbirds and starlings with my quadCs before they eat all of my figs - got 2 fig trees in my backyard - yup, this is just the beginning. With luck I'm going to try to get into aerial photography. Being retired is not all that's it's cracked up to be - a lot of running around for others - now I'll do some for myself in my "down time"...
