Help. X5 SC1, flew for 5 mins then stopped working

Hi guys

Purchased a x5 SC1, it flew for 5 mins, now nothing. How do I confirm whether it's the controller or the drone that's at fault?

John

Pretty vague description and really need more information. Describe exactly what is happening (or not happening) and what steps you've already tried.

Could be any number of things but right off I'd check to make sure you have a fully charged battery. Also assume you have fresh batteries in the transmitter?

apologies. The battery was put on charge, charge light went out so short of checking it has a full charge by putting it on a meter which I don't have assume it's fully charged. Go through the normal process of engaging the remote to the drone i.e. Power slider to full and return. Nothing. Both control levers on remote pulled back and to the right, no reaction, nor do I get flashing lights anymore as I did the first time I put everything together for my first flight. Hopefully I have included all the details required to assist me

Sorry additionally everything on the controller seems to be working, all the movements are being registered on the display. It's as if the controller isn't talking to the drone anymore.

Hmm. Sounds like you’ve checked the obvious stuff.

Do you have another battery to try? That would help eliminate the battery issue. Also, when you are binding transmitter to quad you’re pushing left stick up and back? Try that a few times.

It could always be something like a bad board. It does happen.

Maybe others will weigh in with suggestions. Lots of good knowledge here.

Thanks for your input. I've ordered three new batteries in case I've been supplied with a duff one, not expected to be delivered until after Christmas. Fingers crossed. If anyone else has any ideas, I would be eternally grateful.

Hi guys

Purchased three replacement batteries, with a four way mobile charger, charged batteries until the charger light went out, inserted battery into the x5, no change as a precaution tried another of the three new batteries. Exactly the same nada. So any more help would be very much appreciated.

Sorry to hear that.

Just to clarify and try to simplify this...let's forget about the transmitter side of it for a minute. When you put a charged battery in the quad and turn on the power switch do the quad lights go on? If not, sounds like you have a problem with the main board or some internal wiring.

In that case your quad probably needs to be returned to the seller for a replacement.

Firstly thank you for replying, was beginning to think the forum was devoid of members. Yes the quad lights up, sometimes with the lights flashing when I've taken the battery out and refitted it, aside of that the lights stay on and are not flashing. I tried to return the product but they reimbursed the money and stated they didn't want the drone back, that's why I purchased new batteries in case it was that. If you can help further I would appreciate it, thank you in anticipation

Unless I'm missing something and if I am I can only apologise. Buying a multimeter wouldn't achieve anything. Unless you know how to use it outside of checking the voltage in a battery and since I have purchased three new batteries with a charger it would be a total waste of money and wouldn't get me any nearer to getting useful advice as to what is wrong with my X5 SC1. If there is anyone on the forum who has more of an idea what my likelihood problem is, I would be eternally grateful. I thank anyone who can be more constructive in their advice borne from experience.

I'm having a very similar issue. Brand new Syma X5C, purchased for Christmas for my kid. The battery is fully charged and installed properly, but when I turn the copter's switch to "ON", the copter's lights will not come on and it will not pair with the transmitter. The camera lights DO come on, however.

John,

These Symas are very popular and have been discussed in dozens of threads here so maybe some others will weigh in now that the thread is on the first page.

My advice: It's sounding like you got a dud. Not exactly DOA since it did fly once but it's sounding like it's a bad board or something similar. Keep the existing one for parts and get a new Syma.

I recently got a sema x5sw-1 it has never worked I am trying to figure out if it is the drone or the controller neither the drone or the controler act the way my x5sw acts as far as the flashing lights if some one would call me that have a x5sw-1 with the green light controler so i could compare what yours dose opposed to what mine dose it may give me insight on weather I need a neither controller or a new chip board 1-360-528-7351 thank y

Truthfully, I gave up hoping for any other suggestions so as a result, I now have a x5 sc1 which is back in its box and re ordered another one. I shall use the defunked machine as spares. Good luck with yours.
