Help with a Syma X8HW?

Hey guys,

I'm new to flying quadcopters/drones but had an interest in them for a while, I was recently gifted a Syma X8HW and just wondered if anyone could help me with a few problems I seem to be having?

The main issue I'm having is the quad seems to be very unstable in the air, I try to adjust the trim to correct the issue, but on the 2 occasions I have flown it outdoors, both times it has suddenly flown backwards and to the right, at speed, and doesn't seem to respond to my controls to get it back...both times this has happened I have had to cut the power to stop it just flying away...
(props are on correctly)

Second issue is the hold/hover function...this doesn't seem to work at all...you are supposed to be able to let go of the throttle and it will stay at whatever height you were at, mine just slowly comes back down to the ground?

Third issue is the FPV camera, this was advertised as an HD 2.0mp camera, well it's nowhere near HD and is actually only 0.3mp??
The camera isn't too much of a problem as I have an SJ4000 camera and an anti-shock holder to use, but it's a shame for the FPV quality!

Thanks for any help!

Have you calibrated it? Start on a level surface and center your trims.

I have an SJ4000 camera and an anti-shock holder to use,
Keep in mind it was never meant to carry that amount of weight, which is why the Syma fancy HD camera doesn't have a battery. Let the motors cool between flights and get some spares.

Hi there I also have the X8HW I have not yet been able to get the altitude hold to work with much success if discover anything I would be interested
