I'm member of this forum for only few weeks, and since then I'm thoughtfully reading several threads. I'd like to join "quadcopter owner" club, and buy my first quadcopter. Is out there anyone willing to help me pick right quadcopter to start flying? I thought to this Hubsan X4 H107L but I'm not sure if it's the right decision...What do you guys think?

Welcome Sophia! I would suggest you contact @Mike H. .He has a wealth of information on RTF "toy" quads. I'm confident he can help you to pick a starter that will suit the type of flying you are interested in. Also, start a thread in the Newbie section seeking help in choosing your first quad. This particular thread here is more about Govt. regulations.
Beware......This hobby may require visits to addiction clinics!:D

Amazon has the Syma X11 for $23 looks pretty much like the Hubsan X4, comes with the blade guard which is great for a beginner. Check out the review on YouTube by Quadcopter102

I have both the Hubsan X4 H107l & the Syma X11, for me the X11 is a little more stable and the controls are a wee big slower so it makes it a little easier to fly.

No offense but aren't you the hovering only guy?

The Hubsan also has a very sophisticated transmitter which allows for many tweaks to tailor it to one's preferences.

Takes skill to hover, anybody can fly around and crash into stuff. :-) To answer your question I do fly around some too. Someday if I keep practicing I might be a good as you or as good as you think you are....

Hubsan does tend to be a bit overpriced...I actually got mine for $19.99 from the banggood usa warehouse...Hubsan has already stepped up its game with brushless models and they use there name as means of justifying a higher price..Sort of like Walkera has done.

Hubsan does have a better quality of electronics however, maybe adding to the costs.

Its a very stable flight program and its quite fast but my jjrc 1000a is just as fast if not faster and just as agile and stable..Not bad for $12.49 if you ask me.

For a first quad you cant really beat a syma x5c-1 for a larger size and a Bayang X9 for something smaller.

The bayang x9 is what ive been flying the most since getting one...Parts are super super cheap for it and its more stable than anything i own at this point.

For its price point, im not sure anything beats it...I think i paid $23.00 with an extra battery from china.

I cant really take anything away from hubsan except for maybe price point compared to others with similar performance...One thing about the H107L is the body is really garbage..The second day i had mine, i cracked an arm landing in grass non the less then the next day it broke off enough to hang down and make it not flyable...The plastic is so cheap that crazy glue wont even stick to it to repair it.

The H107L was an effort from hubsan to use feedback from customers to "improve" the original x4...Lights were added to the arms and rubber landing pads were added...They also replaced a component on the flight board that had issues with breaking off during a crash in some cases...Its certainly an improvement over the first version...I guess with its age the price is dropping but ,its not where it needs to be...I got mine on some sort of flash sale for $19.99 shipped from the banggood USA warehouse.

I ended up taking the guts out of it to build a custom quad and let me tell you its no easy task to get that body apart or easy to even do a simple motor change....I wouldnt want to change the body every time one broke on me or replace motors on this model.

The motors are among some of the best however, power wise..The flight boards are quality built and the transmitter is more sophisticated than some others..The pricing is what turns me off most with them and, finding out how cheap the bodys are and, repair difficulty added to that.

I cant really tell you its a mistake buying a hubsan x4 but, its just not in my opinion for someone just starting out.

Hey Guys new to this message board and Just purchased a HUSBAN X4 H501S quadcopter. I was debating between that and the parrot bepop. I went with the Husban and loved it, until i clipped a tree and broke 3 propellers and cracked the arm. I can't find a place anywhere for spare parts for this thing and the seller on ebay is taking forever to respond to my question. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement hull and propellers (7 inch) for this baby. I used JB Weld to fix the cracked arm/hull and am waiting 24hours before going airborn again. But i want to have some back up parts and a new hull if i need it.
Thanks!
