For better or worse I bought one of these last week, it arrived from China in five days (good)
flew straight out of the box (good)
but now I can't seem to get a 'GO' LED or make the motors run (bad)

Because it seemed a bit unstable in flight, when it landed I followed the youtube on 'calibration' hoping this might be what it needed,

situation now is the handset appears to be communicating in as much the
two switches on top 'heading lock' & 'return home' seem to prompt an LED response on quad but I can't decipher the instruction pamphlet further to use it was wondering if anyone had used this before

Oh and the mini-CD wont be of use to my Mac as its windows apparently,
so if there's a handy software site you use, that would be great

thanks
Richard

Seems a lot of folks are having trouble with these after a decent maiden flight.

Note the special dance and multiple key flips.

... don't know if you have the problem solved yet but I'll be more than happy to share what I know about the V303 from my hard won experience. #1) Both switches have to be in the upper position. Unless you absolutely have to or have already screwed it up, I would not try to calibrate the compass. It is very tricky to do so and it has to be done exactly right. You have to be away form any internet network, power lines, large metal objects, etc., etc. There is an excellent video on Youtube that demonstrates it except I have heard several people say to turn around once, not twice. The fast green/yellow lights means that it needs to have the compass calibrated. What you're aiming for is a solid green light for about a minute followed by a slow green and red blinking light. As for calibrating the transmitter, hold the throttle to the bottom right while clicking the right top switch at least 12 times until you get sa flashing red light. While the light is flashing turn the right stick clockwise and the throttle counter clockwise to their limits in all for corners ONCE. Hopefully the transmitter will be centered.

I (had) hoped for plug-n-play of course, but after a quick hop into the air it seems grounded now, I thought I'd ask on the off-chance other customers might have found their way here in same way

update then,
had some success today, the handset has a choice of 4 modes,
I noticed that in 1 of them I get motors, and with a twiddle on right stick I can then get them up to flying speed,
was a bit windy but it was flying (without much input from me I might add add) a slight crash into crops but in one piece,
try again tomorrow with a range check first to make sure its hearing me and I'll report back

reckon this makes me 'seeker' expert on here for a short while doesn't it?

Thanks I've downloaded that, its the same as the printed pamphlet I have here although at least now I can magnify it to read so thanks.
next step as I say I'll get a mate to grip the quad a hundred Metre's away while I start and try the controls so at least we'll know if its trying to do anything the controller is telling it,

any suggestions (broadly and non product specific) on trimming it,
I noticed lifting off it was doing its best to tip upside down can I improve that ?

You did do what he showed in the vid I posted, how do the the little trim markers look in the LCD?

Skip ahead -> 1m47s

That's not to say that even with the markers in the apparent correct position that it won't need to be trimmed.

This seems to explain thing pretty well.

Have the V303 . It will not link the transmitter to the quadcopter. Right below theWiFi signal strength meter, it says it is in mode 3, while the manual says it should be in mode 2. Does anyone know how to change modes?

Thanks,

Never mind, it is in the lower right hand corner of the controller where the camera selections are at. You rotate through from mode 1 through 4 and repeat. It now works.

Some good info here. Mine however is still not working despite a good start. I now have no power to the motors,a nightmare!
