fpv racing quad with ardupilot mega help

Hi, I'm looking at building my first quadcopter and think I've got my head around what I want to build but some advice would be helpful.

I'm thinking a 250 size racing drone with gps and fpv with telemetry combined in the video stream.

Am I right in thinking that ardupilot is the best flight controller to use? What would you recommend for the gps module and transmitter?

I think I've know what I'm doing for the frame, motors, esc, lipo and reciever but any other info would be helpful so I know what to buy.

Thanks in advance.

Was thinking of a Flysky fs-t6
In that price range this is a far superior choice.

These are few highlights that it has that the FS-T6 doesn't. It has a 3 position switch, dual antennas both in the TX and RX, the included RX (which can also handle PPM) has excellent range (>1000M in tests), helped along by the dual antennas which help maintain radio contact at all angles of flight (folks always complain about range issues with the T6). Full failsafes for all channels.

It is smaller though take a peek.

You don't ever see an APM in a "fpv racing quad", they are not know for their nimble performance. Unless you want to do actual racing why not move up to ~330mm size frame?

Back to the FC here's a good vid covering the Naze32, a very popular choice, many racers use them. He covers everything you asked about GPS, OSD etc. There are 8 parts.
