Flight controller question

Does anyone here know if the AR9350 9 Channel AS3X Reciever can be used for a quad build? My boss purchased it to place on his 400 Helicopter and it will not fit, so he offered it to me in case I wanted to build a new quad. I have read on Spektrum's webpage and looked through the manuals and have not seen anything, I just want to cover all bases before passing on a decent receiver.

I would imagine it was too big for a heli.....they dont give much room for components and able to keep it balanced properly in stock locations....I dont see why it wouldnt work on a quad with alot more space to work with.

Sorry, i was editing as you responded..lol

I dont see why it wouldnt..its a flight reciever with more than enough channels...it may not be the lightest choice of receiver but, it should work...youll need a more expensive transmitter to work with it, however.

As far as i know when you buy a spektrum radio you get receiver with it unless otherwise noted...So maybe you end up with 2...one as a spare or for a second quad.

Not free but also not the $180 price from Spektrum. @RGJameson
Pass on it, you don't need or want that big, complicated thing. Building a first quad you'll have enough things to figure out. You didn't say what radio you have, but their are many Spektrum and clone (Lemon, Orange) RXs out there which will be fine.

Orange seem pretty popular.
