FKS 250 with CC3D FC

This may be the wrong place, but any help will be greatly appreciated.

I took the plunge and bought a preassembled 250 racer from Amazon. The FKS 250 with CC3D and the Flysky FS-i6 radio and its companion receiver. Of course there were no instructions included so I'm at a standstill at the moment.

I'm trying to use Openflight to gain access to the FC but have had no luck.
Openflight doesn't recognize the FC. My computer does. At least it says it does.
In Openflight, I can see that the FC is showing input from the accelerometer and gyros, but I can't seem to get it to flash a newer firmware or boot loader.

If anyone has some pointers I'd be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Sorry again. (Meds for back injury taking effect.) Yes. Openpilot.
Windows 10 - 32 and 64 bit OS.
I do have a couple of other computers with WinXP and Win 7 I can try too.

Unfortunately, Banggood is not an option for me. Hence my Amazon purchase.
I'll look at Librepilot when I get home.
Thanks Jackson.

Well, XP and Win7 aren't working either.
I tried OpenPilot and LibrePilot with the same results.
I'll probably just order another FC at this point and see what happens.
Do you have any suggestions? One that will work with the Flysky FS-i6 radio.
Yeah, I'm that new :)

I was finally able to use Librepilot to erase and flash the FC with some luck.
Everything is working, as far as GCS is concerned. But I think I have either a bad radio or receiver.
They won't bind at all.
I turn on radio.
Plug in battery to quad.
ESCs chime.
But the RX flashes constantly. No connection at all.
Even in Librepilot the radio is not recognized.
I'm going to contact the seller and see what's up.

At least I can get to the FC :)

Yeah. Took me awhile to figure that out LOL
Had to make my own jumper to do it.
But now I have a flying 250! Well, props spin and I can get it off the floor.

Is it normal to "wobble" at hover? Not too bad, just a little bit.
I can see this is going to be an ongoing learning experience :)

Thanks Jackson for all your help.

Not normal. When you set it up what did you choose here (this is from OpenPilot I'm assuming Libre still has it).

That's a reasonable choice. For Generic I always thought they should have 3 types instead of just Generic quad X.

X, wide H, and tall H. And when they show the quad chosen a straight on, top down view may help.

Seems now you should explore TxPID Easy Tune.

I attempted some "tuning" this morning, but I wasn't awake enough. LOL
So I gave up and put it away until I have the time to concentrate on it.

One thing I'm thinking about doing is to start over from scratch with everything.
The quad build, the FC, PDB, RX, ESCs, etc, all need to be re-positioned.
I'll take a couple of pics and let you see what I'm talking about.
It's obvious that it was a "convenience" build. AKA: production line.
At least they left some reasonable length of cables to work with.

I'll take a screen grab and also show the quad list that is available to choose.

I saw a build video and he selected ZMR250, it flew like crap. He changed to QAV250 and the difference was like night and day even though you'd think the two would be similar.

Thanks for that tip! (You wouldn't happen to have the link to the build vid would you?)
That was actually going to be my next choice.
As I mentioned above, I'm going to be rebuilding this quad from the frame up. Including flashing the CC3D all over again.
I may have screwed something up this morning in my half-asleep attempt at resetting the quad specs.
Now it won't "idle" up when I arm it. The rate switch isn't being recognized. The throttle doesn't appear to be functioning either.
Rule #1: Never attempt a FC program session with only 1/2 a cup of coffee in you at 5:00AM in the morning. :p

All systems are go!
Everything is working like it should.
Added the FPV camera and TX to the bird tonight right after I got home from work.
Well, not right after. I took it outside and flew it around the yard for a few minutes.
Only crashed 3 times lol
Sunday looks like it's going to be a good day. Temps near 60. Not sure about winds yet. Hope they're mild.
I'll share the video of that flight when I get it online.

Thanks for everyone's help.
